Job summary

IK Systems in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer to configure, integrate, and commission enterprise security and low-voltage systems for mission-critical clients. You will bridge field installation and enterprise configuration, ensuring video, access control, intrusion, and server/network infrastructure operate reliably before handoff.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in low-voltage IT/security deployments, with 3+ years in configuration, integration, or commissioning, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• 5+ years combined experience with low-voltage IT security deployments with at least 3 years in configuration, integration, or commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of IP networking concepts and switch configuration.
• Experience integrating enterprise security platforms (video, access control, or unified security).
• Ability to read construction drawings, riser diagrams, and system schematics, troubleshooting across device, application, server, and network layers.
• Valid Driver's License and ability to travel regionally to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Configure and integrate video management, access control, intrusion, intercom, and analytics platforms with servers and network infrastructure.
• Implement system configurations including user structures, permissions, alarm rules, recording schedules, and workflows.
• Validate designs and BOMs, align drawings with project scope, and escalate discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Field Deployment Engineers to bring devices online and complete system commissioning.
• Perform end-to-end functional tests, failover tests, and performance tuning for reliability.
• Troubleshoot issues using logs, diagnostics, and vendor tools to reach root cause and permanent resolution.
• Configure and support servers and network components (Windows Server, VMs, routing, VLANs, firewalls) per guidelines.
• Maintain up-to-date system documentation, IP schemes, databases, backups, diagrams, and as-built records.
• Coordinate with Project Managers on cutovers, migrations, and go-lives, including after-hours work when needed.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to Field Deployment Engineers and customer stakeholders.
