Job summary

Friendly House in Phoenix is seeking a Victim Support Specialist to manage a caseload and provide individualized services to crime victims. You will perform safety planning, crisis intervention, and court accompaniment while assisting clients with relocation and access to resources.

Under supervision of the Victim Advocate Services Supervisor, the role includes outreach, referrals to partner organizations, document updates, and data entry to support victim recovery and stability.

Qualifications

• GED or equivalent required.
• Social service or related experience.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must obtain DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance card.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized supportive services such as crisis intervention, safety planning, and referrals.
• Court accompaniment for victim support.
• Determine eligibility for client assistance services (utilities, rent, legal fees, transportation).
• Ensure confidentiality of clients and coordinate with community resources.
• Participate in community events and collaborations; complete intake applications.
• Coordinate services with Immigration Department and assist with documentation.
• Provide translation services or coordinate with interpreters.
• Assist with grant reporting, data entry, and victim rights information.

Position Summary

The Victim Support Specialist is responsible for managing a caseload and providing individualized services to eligible primary and secondary victims of crime based on their needs. Under the supervision of the Victim Advocate Services Supervisor, the Victim Support Specialist is to provide a wide range of services including but not limited to; safety planning, crisis intervention, court accompaniment, relocation client assistance services, outreach, and referrals to partner organization as needed. The Victim Support Specialist is to assist victims of crime and support them in creating a plan to stabilize their lives after victimization.

Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $17.78 - $20.67 per hour

Job Qualifications

• High School GED or equivalent
• Social service or related experience
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Driver's license and reliable transportation

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in related field
• 2 years of experience with victim advocacy, social work, or related experience
• Experience and/or knowledge of victimization types
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Experience connecting clients with community resources
• Have the compassion and sensitivity to work with survivors
• Knowledge of principles and practices of case management

• Provide individualized supportive services such as crisis intervention services, create individual goals, safety planning, coordinate referrals
• Court accompaniment for support
• Determine eligibility for client assistance services such as utility assistance, rent assistance, legal fee services, and transportation based on clients' needs.
• Ensure confidentiality of clients
• Participate in community events and collaborative groups/ coalitions
• Complete intake applications and update client files on a routine basis
• Coordinate services with the Immigration Department and assist with documentation
• Assist victims in completion of victim impact statements
• Provide translation services and/or coordinate with Interpreter/Translation service provider
• Assist with grant reporting requirements
• Data entry
• Provide information of victim rights
• Inform clients the crime victim compensation program and assist with application if needed
• Ensures complete and accurate case documentation of activities and services
• Participate in ongoing professional development/training requirements
• Performs other duties assigned by the Victim Advocate Services Supervisor
