Victim Advocate – Friendly House

Remote but primarily Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid). Full-time. Salary $37,000.00 – $43,000.00 annually.

Friendly House, Inc. is a 501(c) 3 non‑profit agency located in Phoenix, Arizona. We provide educational and social services and operate the charter school Academia del Pueblo.

Position Summary

The Victim Advocate manages a caseload and provides individualized services to eligible victims of crime. Under supervision, services include safety planning, crisis intervention, court accompaniment, relocation assistance, outreach, and referrals to partner organizations. The Advocate supports victims in stabilizing their lives after victimization.

Job Qualifications
  • High School GED or equivalent
  • Social service or related experience
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must have or be able to obtain DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance card
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 2 years of experience with victim advocacy, social work, or related field
  • Experience and/or knowledge of victimization types
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience connecting clients with community resources
  • Compassion and sensitivity to work with survivors
  • Knowledge of case‑management principles and practices
Responsibilities
  • Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and individualized supportive services
  • Coordinate referrals and court accompaniment support
  • Determine eligibility for client assistance services (utility, rent, legal fees, transportation)
  • Maintain client confidentiality and accurate case documentation
  • Participate in community events, collaborative groups, and coalitions
  • Complete intake applications and update client files regularly
  • Coordinate services with Immigration Department and assist with documentation
  • Help victims complete victim impact statements and inform them of legal resources
  • Provide or coordinate translation services and interpreters
  • Assist with grant reporting requirements and data entry
  • Inform clients about victim rights and the Crime Victim Compensation Program
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Victim Advocate Services Supervisor
