Job summary

The 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office in Brighton, CO is seeking a Victim Witness Services Assistant to provide direct support to crime victims and witnesses throughout prosecutions.

Responsibilities include informing clients of their rights, guiding them through court procedures, and coordinating referrals to resources such as victim compensation and mental health services. Travel between Brighton and the Broomfield office may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field is required.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in victim witness services or similar.
• Nova and/or CovA Advocate certification preferred.
• Spanish language skills are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inform victims of rights and court processes; provide guidance on procedures.
• Accompany victims to court hearings and explain legal terms.
• Screen statements for restitution and coordinate referrals to resources.
• Assist with front desk tasks and maintain accurate case records.
