About the Opportunity
Our client is a leading global biopharmaceutical company with an increasingly global R&D and commercial footprint. The company has built a substantial innovative pipeline, with 80+ innovative assets, 40+ programs in clinical development and 15+ assets in Phase II/III, spanning areas including oncology, immunology, respiratory, women’s health and endocrinology.
The role will combine strategic BD, licensing, partner development and transaction execution, with significant autonomy to build and shape the company's international partnering agenda.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company's global business development and partnering strategy, with a particular focus on North America and other key international markets.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with global pharmaceutical, biotechnology and strategic partners.
- Lead the identification and evaluation of potential licensing, co-development, co-commercialization and strategic partnership opportunities.
- Assess external opportunities and internal assets from scientific, commercial and strategic perspectives.
- Build and manage a high-quality global BD pipeline from opportunity identification through to transaction execution.
- Lead commercial discussions, deal structuring and negotiations together with internal legal, medical, R&D and commercial stakeholders.
- Work closely with senior leadership to assess portfolio priorities and determine appropriate partnering strategies.
- Represent the company in discussions with senior executives across global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
- Provide market intelligence and strategic insight on global partnering trends, competitive landscapes and emerging opportunities.
- Help further establish the company's presence and network within the global biopharmaceutical partnering ecosystem.
Key Requirements
- Significant experience in business development, licensing, strategic partnerships or corporate development within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Strong understanding of the global biopharmaceutical partnering landscape, particularly in the US and other major international markets.
- Demonstrated experience in deal origination and execution, ideally including licensing or strategic partnership transactions.
- Established relationships with senior stakeholders across pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
- Strong ability to evaluate opportunities across scientific, clinical, commercial and strategic dimensions.
- Experience working with innovative pharmaceutical assets and/or emerging biotech pipelines.
- Strong commercial judgement, negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Comfortable operating in a highly entrepreneurial and evolving environment, with the ability to work independently and influence senior decision-makers.
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across global and China-based teams.
