Job summary

Palm Beach Atlantic University is seeking an Associate Vice President for Development to lead the university's comprehensive fundraising program. The role provides strategic and operational leadership for the Development division, driving fundraising strategy, stewardship, and donor-centered philanthropy while managing a leadership portfolio.

The position partners across academic and administrative units, maintaining strong relationships with the EVP for Advancement and the President.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, public relations, or related field, required; Master's degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) certification, preferred.
• Experience developing and implementing strategic development plans and leading fundraising initiatives.
• Experience building donor relationships and securing funding across major gifts, annual funds, and campaigns.
• Experience coaching and mentoring staff in development skills and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead development strategy and oversee fundraising program for the university.
• Oversee prospect research, gift services, donor relations, communications, grants, and campaigns.
• Monitor goals, dashboards, and KPIs across fundraising domains.
• Coach and develop team members to meet department goals.
• Collaborate with academic and administrative units to align priorities and improve effectiveness.
• Manage a portfolio of 25–35 leadership-level prospects and drive solicitations for priority gifts.
