Position Overview

The Vice President, Strategic Finance role is a management position within Palm Tree’s Strategic Finance group, which focuses on FP&A, financial modeling, performance improvement, and Office of the CFO initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to lead engagements, manage teams, and deliver high-quality financial insights to clients’ portfolio companies. The position is ideal for experienced professionals seeking to broaden their expertise in private equity, M&A, and transaction services.

  • Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) Tools

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Deliverables : Finalize high-quality reporting packages, financial models, KPI reports, and other critical insights.
  • Operational Insights : Conduct detailed analyses of financial and operational data, cash flow, net working capital, and debt items.
  • Process Improvements : Identify and implement best practices for financial operations and team structures.
  • Strategic Recommendations : Provide actionable insights through gap analyses and financial reviews.
  • Engagement Management : Lead strategic engagements, direct team tasks, and communicate with clients throughout the process.
  • Financial Analysis : Design and develop work streams involving complex quantitative analysis and financial modeling.
  • Client Interaction : Guide clients on incorporating deliverables into ongoing operations and lead meetings on financial discovery and change management.
  • Team Leadership : Mentor junior team members and ensure the quality of their work.
  • Business Development : Participate in building client relationships and identifying new business opportunities.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields required.
  • Postgraduate degrees (MAC or MBA) preferred but not mandatory.

Experience

  • 7–10+ years of relevant experience in financial consulting, FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, restructuring, or corporate operations improvement roles.
  • Proven experience managing multiple team members across various engagements.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
