Vice President, Private Equity Secondaries

Aksia is an alternative assets specialist, providing customized investment solutions for institutional investors globally. Our business provides clients with advisory, investment management, and research services across hedge funds, private credit, private equity, real assets, and real estate.


This role will be based in Aksia's New York office and will involve regular interaction with global colleagues.


Position Overview

Aksia is seeking a mid-level professional to join our Private Equity Secondaries team. The Secondaries team has a primary focus on sourcing, screening, and underwriting secondary buy-side transactions, including both LP and GP led deals, but also covers secondary funds. The secondaries team supports the activities of both discretionary and advisory clients.


This position can be based in New York, or other locations dependent upon specific circumstances, and will include regular interaction with global colleagues and clients.



Responsibilities


  • Sourcing, screening, and analyzing private equity secondary opportunities, focused on buy-side transactions, with an emphasis on GP-led deals

  • Establishment and management of a robust transaction sourcing network across relevant counterparties globally

  • Efficient screening of deal flow through qualitative and quantitative analysis

  • Underwriting transactions with comprehensive financial modeling and sensitivity analysis to support investment decisions

  • Legal negotiation of transactions with support from both internal and external legal resources

  • Mentorship of junior team members

  • Liaising with primary fund research team and co-investment team to inform underwriting

  • Summarizing research into investment memorandums and presenting key findings to the Secondaries Investment Committee

  • Supporting business development activities related to secondaries activity

  • Supporting client relationships relevant to secondaries activity



Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business or another related field

  • 5 – 8 years of experience focused on buy-side private equity secondaries investing, with specific experience in GP-led transactions

  • Experience leading the complete life cycle of the secondary investment process, from sourcing through to closing

  • Experience managing a deal team and mentoring junior investment professionals

  • Strong financial modeling and analysis skills

  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with limited oversight

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to think analytically and critically

The estimated base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $220,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Aksia pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package.
