Job description

We have an excellent opportunity to join our Portfolio Management (“PM”) team as Vice President (“VP”), a new role within ING's Lending franchise in Singapore. This mid-level lending professional position is part of the front office. As a key team member, you will actively manage the lending portfolio across Asia Pacific, aiming to optimize returns through analytics and capital velocity. You will collaborate with sector-based origination teams, Transaction Management, Capital Markets & Advisory, Risk, and Legal teams, while aligning with back-office support. The PM team also plays a vital role in process optimization for regulatory readiness, operational efficiency, and portfolio management.

Job responsibilities

• The PM team acts as the ‘center of excellence’ for managing ING’s lending exposure post-funding until repayment, ensuring a seamless client experience through collaboration with various teams.
• Responsibilities include credit reviews, processing amendments and waivers, monitoring financial covenants, identifying early warning signals, and participating in capital velocity initiatives like loan sales and securitizations.
• You will monitor market developments, prepare reports for regulators and stakeholders, maintain databases, and respond to internal requests regarding portfolio exposure.
• Engage with Virtual Client Teams to discuss credit trends and generate cross-buy opportunities.
• Build a culture of operational excellence by staying updated on policies, supporting strategic initiatives, improving processes, and coaching junior colleagues.

Qualifications / Education :

• University degree in business, economics, law, or related fields. CFA and / or MBA is a plus.

Experience / Knowledge :

• Minimum 5 years of relevant lending or credit analysis experience in banking.
• Experience with specialized lending or real asset sectors is advantageous.
• Collaborative team player with high integrity and cross-cultural awareness.
• Strong credit analysis skills and effective communication abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Knowledge of lending legal documentation.
