Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta seeks a senior leader to oversee the operations of all physician practices and affiliate organizations. Working with the COO and CPG, you will develop and implement an integrated operating model, infrastructure, and leadership team to align practices with the system.

  • Drive performance with CO O and CPG to achieve a high-performing physician organization.
  • Develop annual operating goals and oversee daily operations, performance management and improvement plans.
  • Ensure staffing, scheduling, productivity, and adherence to policies and regulatory requirements.

Job Description

Provide leadership and direction to the operations of all physician practices, including affiliate physician organizations. In partnership with the COO, CPG, lead, develop, and implement the organization model, infrastructure, processes, and leadership team necessary to integrate and align physician practices with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. In partnership with the COO, CPG, develop a market leading physician practice organization, which consistently achieves operational excellence and is an organization physicians want to align with and be part of.

Experience
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a leader in physician practice management
  • Knowledge and experience in practice management, including knowledge of practice operations, financial models, reimbursement structures, and organizational models
  • Experience leading healthcare systems in practice acquisition, physician employment, and integration of practices into a larger system
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree Academic practice experience
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, health administration, or related area

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead, develop and implement the organizational physician strategy, and the management structure, processes, and infrastructure necessary to integrate physician practices with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
  • Work with the COO, CPG to drive performance, and achieve a high performing physician organization.
  • Work with the COO, CPG, develop and achieve annual operating goals and objectives.
  • Provide operational oversight for physician practices, including oversight of daily operations, ongoing performance management, and performance improvement plans.
  • Lead operational excellence for physician practices and achieve annual targets for service, quality, and financial performance.
  • Develop a systemwide primary care strategy, including the acquisition and onboarding of primary care practices.
  • Develop and implement a business model for providing management services, including a community health record for physician practices.
  • Partner with service line leaders to optimize physician practices across the system and in some cases with faculty leaders within Emory University School of Medicine.
  • In conjunction with CPG COO and physician partners assure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing, scheduling, and productivity.
  • Set productivity standards in partnership with COO CPG and mentor and monitor performance.
  • Enhance operational effectiveness and quality of care by routinely assessing performance relative to benchmarks and initiatives and implementing appropriate improvement plans.
  • Communicate regularly with physician practice leaders regarding practice performance and expectations, assuring goals are being met and that necessary plans are implemented.
  • Assists COO CPG in maintaining positive community relations and in serving as liaison with staff.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, and all regulatory agency requirements and standard affecting the operations of the facilities.
