The Opportunity

The Vice President of Operations ensures efficient and effective organization-wide operations, overseeing infrastructure and process improvements to support our mission. The role involves aligning headquarters and affiliates, leading operational initiatives, and supporting organizational sustainability and equity efforts.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement operational strategies and systems supporting organizational growth.
2. Analyze and improve processes, logistics, and procurement to optimize solar project execution.
3. Establish KPIs to monitor operational performance.
4. Maintain quality standards and develop contingency plans for disruptions.
5. Train staff on policies and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
6. Oversee supply chain operations and collaborate with the Director of Supply Chain.
7. Partner with the VP of Technology to ensure system integration and efficiency.
8. Manage budgets, control costs, and forecast financial needs.
9. Foster cross-departmental collaboration and support organizational culture aligned with our mission and equity commitments.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of leadership in operations, ideally in solar, renewable energy, or construction.
• Knowledge of solar project lifecycle, permitting, and interconnection.
• Experience in process improvement and operational strategy development.
• Strong leadership and management skills across decentralized teams.
• Ability to interpret compliance standards and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent project management, analytical, and communication skills.
• Commitment to racial, economic, and environmental justice.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in solar operations and nonprofits with social/environmental missions.
• Knowledge of federal procurement and compliance regulations.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma.
• Experience with regional affiliates and disaster recovery planning.
• Bilingual skills (Spanish) and experience with diverse teams.

Additional Details
