Job summary

Barrington James partnered with a fast-growing 503A compounding pharmacy to recruit a Vice President of Operations who will lead the next stage of growth. You will own the operational side of the business, including fulfillment, shipping, inventory, and procurement, collaborating with the Compounding, Quality, Regulatory, and Pharmacist-in-Charge teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in progressive operations leadership at director through EVP level or equivalent.
• Track record of scaling a complex, high-volume operation with multi-layer leadership.
• Background in regulated pharmacy or high-volume pharma environments is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own and grow the operations team spanning pharmacy operations, fulfillment, shipping, inventory, supply chain, and procurement
• Design an operating structure with clear ownership, defined roles, and accountability at every level
• Push measurable gains in speed, labor efficiency, capacity, and cost across the full order-to-delivery process
• Plan ahead for growth across staffing, facilities, equipment, and technology so the business isn't playing catch-up
• Roll out systems, automation, and performance dashboards that give real visibility into how the operation is running
• Work closely with Compounding, Quality, Regulatory, Compliance, and the Pharmacist-in-Charge to keep growth aligned with safety and compliance standards

Reporting to ownership and sitting on the executive leadership team, this person will take charge of the operational side of the business, fulfillment, shipping, inventory, and procurement, working hand in hand with the Compounding, Quality, Regulatory, Compliance, and Pharmacist-in-Charge functions.

Job Responsibilities

• Own and grow the operations team spanning pharmacy operations, fulfillment, shipping, inventory, supply chain, and procurement
• Design an operating structure with clear ownership, defined roles, and accountability at every level
• Push measurable gains in speed, labor efficiency, capacity, and cost across the full order-to-delivery process
• Plan ahead for growth across staffing, facilities, equipment, and technology so the business isn't playing catch-up
• Roll out systems, automation, and performance dashboards that give real visibility into how the operation is running

Job Requirements

• 10+ years in progressive operations leadership, at the Director through EVP level or equivalent
• Track record of scaling a complex, high-volume operation and managing teams across multiple layers of leadership
• Background in 503A or 503B compounding, specialty or mail-order pharmacy, central-fill operations, pharma manufacturing, or another regulated, high-volume environment strongly preferred
• Hands-on experience with automation, workflow systems, KPI tracking, and process improvement
• Multi-state or multi-site leadership experience a plus; pharmacy background helpful but not required
