Jombine, Inc. seeks a proven operations leader to own national field operations for a luxury residential technology integrator. The role reports to the CEO, overseeing multiple branches and driving backlog-to-revenue, margin, and client experience.
Ideal candidates have 15+ years in progressive operations leadership, with multi-site oversight and direct P&L responsibility. This is a high-impact position offering executive accountability and strategic influence across the national platform.
Our client is hiring a senior operations leader to own national field operations for the nation’s leading luxury residential technology integrator.
The company is PE-backed, scaling toward $100M+ in revenue, and operates across 15+ branches throughout the U.S. It was built through the acquisition of multiple independent smart home integration companies and is now building the operating discipline required to perform as one cohesive national platform.
The demand is there. The customers are there. The branch network is there. The backlog is there.
Now the company needs the senior operating leader who can turn that backlog into delivered revenue, margin, client experience, and scalable performance.
For the right candidate, this role may be structured as Vice President of Operations or Chief Operating Officer. The title matters less than the mandate: this is the largest and most impactful management role in the business.
You won’t be inheriting a polished playbook. You’ll be building the operating engine.
Our client is the nation’s leading Home Experience Designer — the only scaled, national luxury residential technology integrator in the United States.
They partner with ultra-high-net-worth homeowners, elite architects, custom builders, and interior designers to create seamless smart home experiences: lighting and shade control, whole-home audio/video, climate automation, security, networking, and integrated systems.
They operate as one unified company — not a franchise — across 15+ branches serving the U.S. This is a complex, field-driven, project-based business. Sales creates booked work and backlog. Operations turns that backlog into delivered projects, recognized revenue, margin, client satisfaction, and cash flow. That distinction is central to this role.
You will report directly to the CEO and lead national field operations across the branch network.
You’ll work through General Managers, field leaders, project delivery teams, service teams, and operations support to create the cadence, accountability, and execution discipline required to run the business every day.
You’ll own:
This is the full operating mandate — from backlog to revenue, field to executive table, strategy to execution.
The company has meaningful booked sales and backlog. Your first mandate is to move that work through the operating system.
You will identify where projects are stuck, where production capacity is constrained, where inventory or procurement slows execution, where scheduling breaks down, and where branch cadence needs to improve.
You will own the operating levers that determine profitability: field labor utilization, unbillable time, project execution discipline, direct margin, rework reduction, scheduling effectiveness, job costing accuracy, service turnaround, and production throughput.
You need to know how to diagnose whether the problem is revenue realization, margin rate, cost, utilization, project velocity, or capacity — and then act.
The company has been hiring strong General Managers. They do not need a lightweight manager or a corporate figurehead. They need a leader they can respect, learn from, and follow.
You will lead through influence, judgment, coaching, support, and accountability. You will know when to push, when to support, when to allow exceptions, and when to hold the line.
The goal is followership — not command-and-control.
This is a bespoke, project-driven business with a smaller number of highly variable transactions. It is not a high-volume, repetitive, route-based operation.
Your job is to create predictable cadence in a less predictable business: management rhythms, KPI visibility, branch reviews, escalation paths, operating standards, labor planning, and decision-making discipline.
You can build the plan, but you also know how to get into the details and make the business perform. You are not above the work. You know when to go into the trenches, stay there long enough to solve the problem, and then step back out to lead at scale.
You understand that operations is not just about execution — it is about financial performance.
You know how to read the P&L, diagnose misses, and pull the right operational levers to improve revenue, margin, utilization, and profitability.
This is not about reviewing numbers after the month closes. It is about knowing what to do on the 15th of the month when the business is short.
You are managing strong General Managers and senior field leaders. You know how to create trust, earn respect, and build followership without relying on title alone.
You can move from a customer issue in one branch, to an inventory constraint, to a labor deployment discussion, to a margin conversation, to an executive operating review — and keep the whole picture in focus.
You understand custom work. You know the difference between a formulaic operation and a high-variability project business. You can build structure without pretending the work is simple.
This role is most likely to fit candidates from complex, field-driven, project-based businesses — especially where work is variable, customer expectations are high, and operational execution drives revenue recognition.
Strong target backgrounds include:
Base Salary: $190K–$235K+
Bonus: 30–40% performance bonus
Long-Term Incentive: Meaningful LTIP participation
Title Flexibility: VP Operations or COO-level structure for the right candidate
Travel: 50%+ national travel required
Benefits include:
The smart home industry is becoming the next essential trade in luxury residential construction. Integrated lighting, automated shades, whole-home audio/video, networking, climate control, and security are no longer optional upgrades — they are baseline expectations in high-end homes.
Our client has the market position, branch footprint, client relationships, and revenue opportunity to define this category nationally. But the operating engine must mature to support the next phase of growth.
The business has a substantial backlog. The sales organization is creating opportunity. The field teams are growing. The General Manager bench is being strengthened.
Now the company needs a senior operator who can turn that potential into consistent execution.
This is not about inheriting a perfect machine. It is about building the operating rhythm that allows a national platform to performance.
