Job summary

Cinemark USA, Inc. in Plano, Texas seeks a Vice President of Operational Design and Innovation to lead strategy and execution of wide-ranging operational initiatives across theatres, including engineering, food & beverage, and cross-functional partnerships with enterprise teams.

You will define long-range plans, build high-performing CSC Operations teams, manage annual budgets, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years leading a complex operations organization.
  • Theater, retail, restaurant, multi-unit franchise operations, and/or hospitality industry experience a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.

  • Lead CSC Operations teams that include multiple Managers/Directors and their direct reports; drive engagement and performance.
  • Develop annual budget for CSC Operations department and related projects.

Role Summary:

The Vice President, Operational Design and Innovation will ensure a strong operational foundation is in place to enable theatres to obtain and exceed company goals. This VP leads the strategy and implementation of operational activities including but not limited to key strategic initiatives, Operations project management process, field continuous improvement, industrial engineering, food & beverage operations, and partnership with various business groups (ie, F&B, Construction, Enterprise Continuous Improvement).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategy Partner with senior leaders to define strategic objectives and translate those objectives into priorities and plans. Collaborate and work cross-functionally with department leaders to accomplish objectives. Ensure company programs and policies meet current and future business needs by creating a culture of continuous improvement and transformation Develop long range plans to improve operational excellence for the brand Leadership Lead CSC Operations teams that include multiple Managers/Directors and their direct reports. Drive a high-engagement, high-performance environment that recognizes and rewards achievement and retains its team members. Provide consistent support, coaching and feedback to CSC Operations teams and assess performance on an ongoing basis with a goal of identifying and achieving business goals, career goals and professional skill development Develop CC Operations succession plan by providing career planning/cross training opportunities for existing team, identifying internal and external talent sources, and leading recruiting efforts for open positions Execution Improve operational execution throughout the company by establishing consistent protocols, identifying improvement opportunities, providing training and support to front line leaders, escalating complex situations. Act as a champion for strategic initiatives. Operate in a complex and fast-paced environment, adjusting priorities as circumstances require Develop and manage annual budget for CSC Operations department, strategic projects, and field support tools
Key Work Streams:
  • Food and Beverage Operations: Contribute operational insight to strategic design of Food & Beverage initiatives, ensure delivery of high-quality food and beverage services, and establish effective field inventory management processes and tools. Continuous Improvement: Lead the discovery and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within CSC Operations and Field Operations, and lead change management efforts associated with process improvements projects. Industrial Engineering: Collaborates with Food & Beverage and Construction leaders to evaluate, develop, and implement equipment solutions, kitchen designs, and concession renovations to ensure optimized operational efficiency.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years leading a complex operations organization. Field leadership experience a plus. Theater, retail, restaurant, multi-unit franchise operations, and/or hospitality industry experience a plus Results oriented with excellent judgement, problem solving and prioritization skills Extensive expertise in building and leading cross-functional teams, planning and directing projects Advanced understanding and competency in strategy and systems for project management, and work streams detailed above Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and organizational skills; effective at communicating at all levels of an organization A collaborative leadership style, with clear capacity to influence and cultivate trusting relationships with internal team, peers, vendor partners, and guests Ability to identify and attract high caliber, diverse team players, and developing them into future leaders. Self-motivated leader with the ability to solve complex business and human resource related problems and influence others while promoting a safe positive work environment Demonstrated ability to champion strategic transformation initiatives within the organization A proactive approach to project management, strategic planning, and multi-level team leadership Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
