Overview




The Vice President (VP) of Product Management holds a key position on the Executive leadership team at the Center for Internet Security. With a vision of making essential cybersecurity knowledge, skills, tools, and services available to as many organizations as possible, the VP of Product Management is responsible for leading the Product Management team in the creation and execution of the portfolio plan to achieve that vision. Broad in scope and evolving rapidly, the CIS product portfolio consists of CIS developed and third-party integrated software products as well as a full range of services. The VP of Product Management must have a strong background in software and services product management, portfolio planning, business analysis, and the cybersecurity industry, along with a deep understanding of product development methodologies, emerging technologies, industry trends, agile practices, UX/UI design principles, and strong technical insight. In addition, the VP of Product Management will be an effective leader capable of inspiring and motivating teams, setting a clear vision, coaching and mentoring, fostering collaboration, and empowering team members to achieve their full potential.

Salary Range: $188,300 - $338,900

What You'll Do




  • Work with senior executive leadership to develop and evolve the CIS product portfolio. Ensure that the portfolio harmonizes CIS products and services and accomplishes a balance between mission accomplishment and revenue growth
  • Ensure execution and delivery of product strategies and living roadmaps in an Agile Product Development environment. Ensure these strategies and roadmaps align with CIS mission and strategic business objectives. Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute and track progress, adapt plans as needed to meet business objectives. Using Lean Portfolio Management principles, collaborate with stakeholders to create and maintain a dynamic portfolio backlog that reflects changing market conditions and customer needs
  • Develop, justify, and maintain business cases for the product portfolio and individual products while effectively managing approved budgets aligning strategy and execution
  • Develop, lead, and oversee the Product Management team, ensuring consistent application of Agile methodologies, processes, and product artifacts
  • Build and lead high-performing product teams, providing guidance and mentoring product managers and product owners to develop and enhance their capabilities and performance, fostering a culture of self-mastery and excellence
  • Identify market opportunities, assess risks, and make informed recommendations regarding product investments and resource allocation
  • Continuously evaluate evolving technologies, market conditions, and customer feedback to inform strategic direction of products and services
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and partners, gathering feedback to drive product improvements and enhance customer satisfaction
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track product performance, customer satisfaction, and market success. Report on product performance to internal and external stakeholders, including CIS senior management
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement to drive product excellence
  • Collaborate and coordinate with various departments, including Marketing, Sales, Security Best Practices (SBP), and Operations to ensure effective communication, alignment, and coordination
  • Align with senior leadership on development of decision-making framework for product portfolio investments
  • Manage complex product and program budgets
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned





What You'll Need




  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (computer, software, or other engineering discipline) from an accredited college or university
  • 10+ years' experience in a product management leadership role in a technology-related field
  • Strong experience in product management, software development, and agile practices
  • Track record of developing and leading high performing product management teams
  • Experience leading and managing in both direct-line and matrixed organizations
  • Experience in portfolio planning, risk management, and change management
  • Experience developing processes and procedures to drive product management maturity
  • Experience developing and managing complex P&L's, developing business cases, pricing models, managing budgets, and demonstrated strong financial acumen
  • Significant client-facing experience and excellent communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • The position is open to U.S. citizens and requires a favorably adjudicated DHS Fitness Review for Public Trust Positions**

It's a Plus if You Have:

  • Advanced degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years' experience in the cybersecurity industry
  • Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) and/or Cloud Service Provider (CSP) experience
  • Strong presentation capabilities
  • Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics using business management and intelligence software (e.g., CRM, BI tools)

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate's degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree.
