Gryphon Oakwood are currently partnered on an exciting Vice President opportunity to lead data center operations within Virginia. The majority of work is currently focused in Richmond with additional projects throughout the wider state. The ideal candidate must have experience leading new construction projects for an electrical contractor, specifically within data centers.

Essential Job Functions:

• Financial Performance: Maintain overall financial accountability for assigned branches or regions, including revenue, profitability, forecasting, cost control, cash flow, and working capital. Analyze performance metrics, identify risks, and implement strategies to improve financial results.
• Executive Leadership: Provide strategic direction to project management, field operations, estimating, and supporting teams. Develop leaders, establish accountability, and promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee project execution to ensure safety, quality, schedule, budget, and profitability objectives are achieved. Drive consistency in project management practices, resource allocation, and operational processes.
• Estimating and Change Management: Oversee estimating, scope development, vendor and subcontractor coordination, and change order management to mitigate risk and maximize project profitability.
• Scheduling and Project Delivery: Ensure effective project scheduling, resource planning, and coordination with general contractors. Promote the use of scheduling tools, pull planning, and performance tracking to achieve project milestones.
• Preconstruction and Technology: Champion preconstruction planning, VDC, prefabrication, kitting, and construction technology to improve productivity, quality, and field execution.
• Systems and Process Improvement: Ensure consistent adoption of company procedures, financial systems, project management platforms, and operational standards. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accountability, and scalability.
• Customer and Business Development: Build and maintain strategic customer, contractor, vendor, and industry relationships. Support business development, strengthen market presence, and balance customer satisfaction with company profitability and risk management.
• Strategic Planning and Culture: Align regional or branch operations with corporate objectives, drive continuous improvement, develop future leaders, and reinforce company values and performance expectations.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and electrical construction industry experience, including 6–7 years of field experience.
• 4–5 years of management experience overseeing construction project teams and operations.
• Proven success delivering large-scale electrical construction projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• Demonstrated financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and profitability management.
