Job description

Memorial Hospital of South Bend is seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead its 434-bed facility, which is a designated Level II trauma center with net revenue over $710 million. The hospital is recognized for its high-quality care in newborn and pediatric services, cancer care, trauma care, surgical care, and rehabilitation. Currently, Memorial Hospital is undergoing a multi-year campus redevelopment project, including a new 10-story patient tower set for completion in early 2027.

As the flagship of Beacon Health System, Memorial Hospital is part of a network that includes multiple hospitals and outpatient centers across northern Indiana and southern Michigan. Beacon Health System, a not-for-profit organization, employs over 8,000 associates and provides care to more than 4,000 patients daily. The system’s extensive reach includes Beacon Children’s Hospital, Beacon Granger Hospital, Community Hospital of Bremen, Elkhart General Hospital, Epworth Hospital, and Three Rivers Hospital.

The next VP will report to Larry Tracy, President of Memorial Hospital, and should have significant operational experience in a high-intensity hospital setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen, a proven track record in hospital administration, and experience leading major construction projects. They must be an effective communicator, capable of engaging with stakeholders and driving operational initiatives that align with Beacon Health System’s goals.
