Job description

Vice President of Human Resources – Multi-Brand Restaurant Group (Confidential)

Reports to: CEO / Executive Leadership Team

About the Company

Our client is a high-growth, Dallas-based restaurant and hospitality operator running a large, diverse portfolio of company-owned and franchised brands across quick-service, fast-casual, and full-service dining. With hundreds of locations nationwide and a workforce in the thousands, the organization is built on disciplined execution, operational excellence, and a belief that great restaurants start with great people. Growth is both organic and acquisition-driven, and the company is known for investing in brands, revitalizing them, and building strong teams to run them.

This is a confidential search. Company details will be shared with qualified candidates.

The Opportunity

The VP of HR will be a hands-on strategic leader and trusted partner to the executive team, owning the full people agenda across a multi-brand, multi-state footprint. This role suits a leader who thrives in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial, owner-led environment, can scale HR infrastructure alongside rapid growth, and is equally comfortable in the boardroom and in a restaurant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead HR strategy across all brands and business units, aligning people initiatives with growth, operational, and unit-level financial goals.
  • Build and lead the HR team, including HR business partners, talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits, compensation, and HRIS.
  • Drive people integration for acquisitions: assess talent, harmonize policies, compensation, and benefits, and onboard newly acquired teams with minimal disruption.
  • Own talent acquisition and retention strategies for high-volume hourly hiring and multi-unit management pipelines in a high-turnover industry.
  • Develop leadership and training programs that grow team members into shift leaders, general managers, and multi-unit leaders.
  • Design competitive, scalable compensation, incentive, and benefits programs for both restaurant and corporate teams.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple states, including wage and hour, tip credit, predictive scheduling, I-9/E-Verify, and franchisor brand standards.
  • Oversee employee relations and investigations, and partner with legal counsel on risk mitigation.
  • Lead HRIS, payroll, and workforce management technology decisions to improve efficiency and data visibility.
  • Use people analytics (turnover, labor, engagement, time-to-fill) to inform decisions and report to executive leadership.
  • Champion a culture rooted in integrity, accountability, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience in the restaurant industry at the VP, Senior Director, or Director of HR level (or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting a multi-unit, multi-state restaurant organization; multi-brand or franchisee experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record with M&A integration or rapid-growth environments.
  • Deep knowledge of hourly workforce management, restaurant labor law, and franchise system requirements.
  • Experience building HR functions and processes from the ground up in an entrepreneurial, results-driven culture.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with a focus on unit-level economics.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field required; SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or MBA preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to restaurant locations as needed.

What We're Looking For

A roll-up-your-sleeves executive who leads with integrity, moves quickly, holds teams accountable, and genuinely believes people are the company's greatest competitive advantage.

Compensation: Competitive executive base salary, performance bonus, and comprehensive benefits package.
