Job summary

Veridian Homes is seeking an experienced Vice President of Finance to lead strategic financial and operational planning for the company in an in‑person role based in Madison, WI. You will guide financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow, capital allocation, and internal controls while partnering with the leadership team to drive growth and profitability.

The role includes leading the Finance team and collaborating with Forgewell Building Group on reporting and synergies, with CPA/CMA and 10+

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration with emphasis in accounting, or related field.
• CPA or CMA designation required or strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with finance leadership.
• Advanced knowledge of budgeting, internal controls, GAAP, and cost accounting.
• Experience leading strategic planning over a 3–5 year horizon.
• Homebuilding industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic financial and operational planning to support growth and profitability.
• Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and internal controls.
• Lead and develop the Finance team and ensure strong departmental performance.
• Maintain long-term forecasting and financial models to guide strategic capital allocation.
• Oversee business plan modeling with focus on pricing, margins, returns, and financial risk.
• Partner with CFO on banking and lending relationships, credit facilities, and capital strategies.
• Develop executive-level financial reporting and KPI dashboards to support data‑driven decision‑making.
• Oversee job costing, annual audits, tax reporting, and other key accounting functions.
• Support AI adoption and other process improvements that increase efficiency and growth.
• Collaborate across Veridian Homes and Forgewell Building Group for reporting and insights.

Veridian Homes is seeking an experienced Vice President of Finance to lead strategic financial and operational planning for the company. This is an opportunity to join a respected homebuilder known for innovation, sustainability, and smart growth practices while serving as a key member of the leadership team. This is an in-person position based in our Madison, WI office.

The Vice President of Finance will lead financial planning, reporting, cash flow, capital allocation, budgeting, internal controls, and accounting operations while partnering with executive leadership to drive growth and profitability. This role will also lead the Finance team and collaborate with Forgewell Building Group companies on financial reporting and operational synergies.

• Partner across Veridian Homes and Forgewell Building Group companies to improve financial reporting, operational insights, and strategic initiatives

A successful candidate will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field, along with a CPA or CMA designation. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, advanced knowledge of finance, accounting, internal controls, budgeting, cost accounting, cost control principles, and GAAP, and experience leading and implementing strategic planning over a three- to five-year period. Experience in the homebuilding industry is a plus.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, analytical, communication, and decision‑making skills, with the ability to work effectively with executives and cross‑functional teams while developing and mentoring Finance team members.
