Title: VP of Engineering, AI-First Fintech

Location: New York, San Francisco, Washington D.C., or Seattle

A venture-backed fintech that is rebuilding its business around AI needs a VP of Engineering to lead the shift. This leader will own engineering across the core lending and payments platform, data, and the AI and ML systems that are becoming the product. The role

You will run engineering across several business lines and bring them into one organization with a shared roadmap. You will report to the CEO and own technical direction, delivery and engineering spend. You will build the director layer beneath you and decide where AI goes into the product and where it doesn't belong.

What we are looking for

• 12+ years in engineering, with 5+ years leading leaders across more than one product line
• You have scaled an org through hypergrowth, roughly 30 to 150+ engineers
• You have shipped production systems in regulated financial services: lending, payments, trading or insurance
• You have taken ML or LLM systems from prototype into production, not just piloted them
• A background at a high-growth fintech, top-tier tech company, quant trading firm or AI lab
• You can still hold your own in an architecture review
