Job description

Vice President of Corporate Development

Private Equity-Backed, Multi-Site Healthcare Services Platform

Location: Flexible (with travel as required)

We are currently partnered with a private equity-backed, multi-site healthcare services organization seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Vice President of Corporate Development. This executive will report directly to the CEO and play a central role in scaling the platform through a robust, ongoing M&A strategy. The company is supported by a healthcare-dedicated private equity sponsor and led by a dynamic new CEO with deep operational and transactional expertise.

The VP will step into a business with strong momentum and an inherited pipeline of actionable M&A opportunities. The role is initially envisioned as a highly hands-on, individual contributor position—ideal for candidates who thrive in entrepreneurial settings and enjoy building from the ground up. Over time, there is a clear path to a Chief Development Officer title and the opportunity to build out a broader corporate development team as volume scales. Internal and sponsor resources are available to support financial modeling, diligence, and integration as needed.

Key Responsibilities

M&A Strategy & Execution

  • Serve as the primary architect and operator of the company's acquisition strategy
  • Lead the entire deal lifecycle: sourcing, diligence, modeling, LOI negotiation, board presentations, structuring, and integration
  • Collaborate with the CEO, PE sponsor, and executive stakeholders to evaluate opportunities and present to the investment committee

Business Development & Deal Sourcing

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, advisors, and referral sources
  • Develop a steady pipeline of acquisition targets through outbound efforts and market engagement
  • Execute creative outreach strategies to engage with independent practice owners and key influencers

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate due diligence across functional areas: operations, finance, legal, IT, HR
  • Support the development of scalable integration systems to drive post-close value creation
  • Work hand-in-hand with the CEO to ensure strategic alignment across departments

Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Track and report on KPIs related to deal sourcing, close rates, and acquisition-driven growth
  • Deliver clear, data-backed updates to the board and investor group, including financial and strategic justifications for each deal

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 7+ years in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or M&A consulting, preferably in multi-site healthcare services
  • Experience in physician practice management (PPM) M&A is essential; dental experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success in sourcing and executing founder-led or lower-middle market transactions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to engage confidently with clinicians, business owners, and C-level executives
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a self-starter attitude and comfort operating in lean, fast-moving environments
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred

Why Join Us?

  • Work directly with an experienced, growth-oriented CEO
  • Partner with a highly engaged healthcare-focused private equity sponsor
  • Take over a robust pipeline while shaping the future of a scalable acquisition platform
  • Clear trajectory to Chief Development Officer, with the opportunity to build and lead your own team
  • Competitive compensation, equity participation, and benefits package
