The YWCA North Central Indiana seeks an executive-level leader tojoin a strong team of professionals. This individual will continue tocultivate existing relationships while building the strategy andfundraising initiatives to ensure the long-term financialsustainability of the organization and the critical services weprovide to the community.
The Vice President of Advancement will plan, direct and coordinateall aspects of agency resource development and promotion, including,but not limited to developing and implementing a strong fundraisingprogram, cultivating relationships with supporters, directing allmajor fundraising activities, oversight of grant writing, internal andexternal communications and special projects.
- Develop and implement a structured fundraising program to supportthe organizational mission through diversified funding resources.
- Strategically and intentionally engage both individual andinstitutional supporters; identify, cultivate, solicit and stewardcurrent and future donors.
- Increase the annual retention of donors, number of donors andvalue of individual gifts, including annual appeals, special andmajor gift campaigns.
- Implement program to increase planning giving among current donors.
- Prepare the annual development plan; including strategies, tacticsand measurements to meet organizational objectives along withbudgets to support their implementation.
- Analyze and report donor activity and trends to evaluateeffectiveness of development initiatives.
- Promote and support a culture of philanthropy among staff, boardand volunteers which emphasizes and practices the highest standardsof professional ethics and donor stewardship.
- Lead support for all agency fundraising events.
Marketing & Communications
- Develops the strategic direction for agency-wide marketing and communications.
- Ensure accurate, clear, detailed and complete communications,including gift recognition.
- Oversees and maintains YWCA brand standards and supervises thedesign of all collateral marketing material.
- Oversees and maintains donor database ensuring the accuratetracking of all donor-related information.
Leadership and Supervision
- Serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and as aliaison for the Board of Directors Advancement Committee.
- Supervises Advancement and Communication team members.
- Coordinates with Human Resources on all employment issues;conducts interviews for team members and completes annualperformance reviews for all direct reports.
- Attend and present at all YWCA North Central Indiana Board ofDirector Meetings (six per year) and oversee all Advancement andSpecial Event Committee meetings.
- Represent the YWCA in the community with other service providers,business, government, community organizations and other stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned to meet organizational goals.
Experience and Skills:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, PhilanthropicStudies, Communications, Marketing or related field; or acombination of education and experience.
Knowledge & Experience
- 7-10 years of related experience preferred; development,marketing, sales.
- Strong relationship building skills with the ability tocommunicate in a professional manner with a wide range of people.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion whenhandling potentially confidential and/or sensitive matters.
- Exceptional skills in writing, planning, organizing and evaluationof written / oral communications.
- Excellent time management skills and comfort level with handling amultitude of projects with overlapping deadlines.
- Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office and databasemanagement platforms.
- Experience and knowledge of charitable giving and marketing strategies.
