Job summary

SMBC Group in Charlotte, NC seeks a Senior Software Engineer to develop scalable Python applications, deploy in Azure, and enhance front-end components with React JS, HTML5 and CSS3. You will work across authentication and authorization, and ensure code meets unit test standards.

Hybrid remote work is permitted, with office commuting expectations discussed during interview. The role includes a base salary range of $158,746–$164,800 plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field plus 7 years of experience, including 5 years of experience in an enterprise system environment.
• Required skills: Python system development; database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and distributed computing frameworks; Finance Services Technology development experience with VaR/Market Risk systems or Front Office trading platforms; Agile methodologies.
• The required skill set does not need to be maintained over the full term of the required experience.

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $158,746.00 and $164,800.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Hybrid remote work permitted.

SMBC’s employees participate in a Hybrid workforce model that provides employees with an opportunity to work from home, as well as, from an SMBC office. SMBC requires that employees live within a reasonable commuting distance of their office location.
