Job description

We are partnering with an established investment firm to hire a Vice President for a growing investing team. This person will take a leading role in evaluating and executing investments in asset-backed and real-economy businesses, with significant exposure to senior decision-makers and a clear path to increased responsibility.

This is an opportunity for an investor who enjoys combining rigorous underwriting with commercial thinking, relationship development, and active ownership of transactions from initial review through portfolio management.

The Role

The Vice President will be responsible for driving investment activity across the full lifecycle:

  • Lead evaluation of new investment opportunities, including business diligence, market assessment, financial analysis, structuring, and risk review.
  • Build investment cases and present recommendations to internal senior leadership.
  • Manage live transactions, coordinating external advisors, counterparties, lenders, legal teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop relationships with sponsors, intermediaries, management teams, and other market participants to support pipeline development.
  • Take an active role in portfolio oversight, including performance monitoring, strategic initiatives, and issue resolution.
  • Help refine investment processes and contribute to the development of a high-performing, entrepreneurial team.
  • Provide guidance and day-to-day mentorship to junior professionals.
Ideal Background
  • Approximately 6 - 10+ years of relevant experience in private credit, principal investing, leveraged finance, infrastructure/project finance, asset finance, or a similarly transaction-intensive environment.
  • Strong track record of independently underwriting and executing complex investments.
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical capabilities, with the ability to identify both upside and downside scenarios.
  • Sound commercial instincts and the confidence to engage directly with senior counterparties.
  • Experience working in a lean investment environment where individuals are expected to take real ownership.
  • Interest in sectors tied to essential services, physical assets, or long-term thematic growth is helpful, but not required.
  • Collaborative, low-ego, and comfortable operating through change and ambiguity.
Why Consider This Opportunity
  • A visible role on a compact investment team where contributions directly shape outcomes.
  • Broad exposure across sourcing, execution, and portfolio work rather than a narrowly defined function.
  • Opportunity to help build a platform during an important phase of growth.
  • Competitive compensation with a meaningful performance-based and long-term incentive component.
