The Vice President of Information Technology (VP of IT) will be responsible for the strategic leadership, development, and implementation of the company’s technology infrastructure. This role will oversee the entire IT function, ensuring the systems, applications, and processes are efficient, secure, and scalable. The VP of IT will drive digital transformation initiatives, particularly focused on cloud infrastructure, data-driven decision-making, and process optimization, while ensuring technology solutions support the company's business goals and growth objectives.
This position requires a visionary IT leader with proven expertise in cloud computing, systems architecture, strategic IT planning, cost reduction, and enhancing service quality. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in transforming traditional on-premise IT infrastructures into cloud-based environments, optimizing workflows, and leading IT teams to deliver exceptional service.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING| THE ROLE
1. IT Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead the strategic planning, development, and execution of IT initiatives that align with the company’s business objectives and goals.
- Oversee the development and implementation of IT systems, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and cost-effective.
- Act as the key advisor to senior leadership on technology solutions that drive business innovation, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage.
- Lead the migration of on-premise data and applications to the cloud (Microsoft Azure and Office 365), optimizing IT resources for better scalability and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage the transformation of the company’s IT infrastructure by transitioning from on-premise data centers to cloud-based environments, utilizing Microsoft Azure and Office 365.
- Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise-wide cloud-based solutions, ensuring system availability and security.
- Implement and manage cloud technologies, including Single Sign-On (SSO), Identity Management, and Mobile Device Management (MDM) to streamline processes and enhance security.
3. IT Service Management & Process Improvement:
- Continuously assess IT processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions that enhance service quality and reduce operational costs.
- Drive IT initiatives that increase employee productivity, improve service delivery, and ensure business continuity through technology.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with key technology vendors and service providers to ensure cost-effective, high-quality solutions and services.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including vendors, contractors, and consultants, to ensure seamless integration of technology systems.
5. Cybersecurity & Data Protection:
- Oversee cybersecurity initiatives and ensure the company’s IT systems and data are secure, compliant with industry standards, and protected from threats.
- Manage the implementation of data protection policies and processes, including data encryption, secure data storage, and regular risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices for data privacy and security, including GDPR and industry-specific standards.
6. IT Operations & Budget Management:
- Manage IT operations, including hardware, software, network infrastructure, and IT support services across the organization.
- Develop and manage the IT department’s budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective IT investments.
- Oversee the management of mobile devices, software licenses, and IT inventory to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership and guidance to IT staff, encouraging professional growth and skill development through training and mentoring.
8. Project Management & Execution:
- Lead and manage complex IT projects, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery of technology solutions.
- Act as a project manager for key initiatives such as cloud migrations, system upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful project execution across various business departments.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING| THE PERSON
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in IT management, with at least 7 years in senior leadership roles.
- Proven experience in leading cloud transformation projects, particularly with Microsoft Azure and Office 365.
- Strong background in IT infrastructure, network security, and systems architecture.
- Experience with managing and optimizing enterprise-level systems (e.g., Yardi, SharePoint, Mobile Device Management, Meraki WAN).
- Extensive experience in strategic IT planning, process optimization, and vendor management.
- Strong expertise in IT budgeting, cost management, and resource allocation.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Deep understanding of cloud computing, data management, and IT security.
- Proven ability to lead digital transformation initiatives and deliver results.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage complex IT projects and prioritize multiple initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to reduce costs while improving service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Familiarity with industry-specific software (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio) is a plus.
- Office-based role with potential for remote work flexibility
