Vice President, Human Resources - RWJUH Hamilton

Pay Range: $200,000.00 - $275,000.00 per year
Job Summary
The Vice President of Human Resources is responsible for directing all people functions at the organization, ensuring strategic HR planning, employee experience, and compliance with laws and regulations. The role collaborates with HR leadership and services to attract and retain top talent, drive performance excellence, and support the long‑term health of the organization.
Reports To
The VP of Human Resources reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources, with a matrixed reporting relationship to the Site Chief Administrative Officer.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Human Resources Management (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 8 years of HR experience, including at least 3 years in HR management; acute hospital or healthcare experience highly preferred.
- Proven time‑management and decision‑making skills under competing timelines.
- Track record as a key influencer of human capital decisions in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.
- Leadership, people, and change‑management experience.
- Strong planning, communication, and organization skills.
- Demonstrated ability to foster accountability and a positive employee experience.
Essential Functions
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the site’s HR function and performance.
- Participate in development of organizational plans and programs as a strategic partner.
- Translate enterprise‑driven strategic initiatives into local tactical operations.
- Collaborate with HR Centers of Expertise to develop staffing strategies, succession plans, and identify diverse talent.
- Partner with SVP of HR, CPO, and HR Centers of Expertise to develop progressive programs promoting employee motivation and engagement.
- Align HR, DEI, and operational strategies with local programs consistent with site culture.
- Work with HR Centers of Expertise to implement workforce planning models and talent development programs.
- Serve as trusted resource, effective listener and problem solver of people issues.
- Ensure compliance with system policies, laws, and regulations.
- Monitor HR policies and procedures through systems that improve overall operations.
- Serve as senior advisor and employee‑relations expert to influence people decisions.
- Collaborate with SVP of HR and CPO to ensure compliance with regional budget and drive fiscal responsibility.
- Provide critical feedback to SVP of HR and CPO for continuous performance and process improvement.
- Evaluate and manage the HR team, ensuring continual improvement and professional growth.
- Communicate consistently and transparently with the workforce, participating in leadership rounding.
