Job summary

ModMed is seeking a Vice President, Government Affairs to lead government affairs, public policy, and regulatory advocacy for our health IT, EHR, and AI portfolio from our Boca Raton HQ. You will work closely with the CLO and C-suite to shape policy strategy and translate complex developments into business actions.

The role requires guiding executive teams through policy risk, building influential coalitions, and representing ModMed to regulators, trade associations, and industry groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, Healthcare Policy.
• Masters or JD preferred with focus in Healthcare or Tech Law.
• 12+ years of progressive government affairs/public policy experience in healthcare/tech.
• Experience developing federal/state government affairs strategies and engaging policymakers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute enterprise government affairs and public policy strategy across federal/state levels.
• Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, regulators, and government agencies.
• Lead responses to proposed legislation and regulatory initiatives affecting healthcare tech and AI.
• Advise executive leadership on legislative and regulatory risks and opportunities.
• Represent the company in industry coalitions and external policy initiatives.

Reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer, this role develops proactive federal and state government affairs strategies; builds relationships Job Evaluation Request Form with policymakers and regulatory agencies; represents the company with government officials, industry associations, and external coalitions; and advises executive leadership on legislative, regulatory, and political developments that may affect the company's products, customers, and business strategy.The VP, Government Affairs serves as a trusted advisor to the CLO, C-suite, Product, Engineering, Clinical, Compliance, and other business leaders, translating complex policy developments into actionable business strategies. The role is responsible for establishing the company's government affairs agenda, anticipating emerging policy risks and opportunities, and positioning the company as a credible and influential voice in the development of healthcare technology and AI policy.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Government Affairs & Public Policy StrategyDevelop and execute the company's enterprise government affairs and public policy strategy across federal and state legislative and regulatory environments. Establish policy priorities related to health IT, EHR certification, artificial intelligence, ambient clinical intelligence, health data privacy, interoperability, information blocking, healthcare reimbursement, and other issues affecting the company's products and customers. Anticipate emerging policy developments and proactively develop strategies to influence outcomes.Federal & State Government RelationsBuild and maintain senior-level relationships with federal and state policymakers, regulators, and government agencies, including ASTP/ONC, HHS, CMS, FTC, FDA, congressional committees, state legislatures, state agencies, and other relevant government stakeholders.
