Job summary

SmartRecruiters, Inc. is seeking a senior software engineer in Pittsburgh to join a team delivering cloud-native applications on Azure.

You will design and implement Java-based microservices with Spring Boot, ensure scalable REST APIs, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate has 5–9 years of hands-on software development experience, strong problem-solving and collaboration skills, and experience with Docker, Kubernetes (AKS preferred), and front-end frameworks

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–9 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong expertise in: Java (17 or higher), Spring Boot, Microservices Architecture, REST APIs.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure.
• Hands-on experience with AKS or comparable Kubernetes platforms.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, resiliency, and performance optimization.
• Experience with Angular (preferred) or React.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
