Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice President for Financial Services and Operations (VPFSO). The VPFSO reports to the President and serves as the College’s chief fiscal and administrative officer, overseeing budget and finance, physical plant operations, infrastructure and environment, capital improvements, campus police, and auxiliary and event management services. The Institution: Since 1958, PGCC provides high-quality, affordable, and accessible educational opportunities for students in Prince George’s County and beyond. The College’s main campus is in Largo, Maryland, about 15 miles from Washington, D.C. PGCC serves nearly 25,000 students annually across more than 200 programs. The campus feature renovations and expansions to support academic programs and student learning, with ongoing projects funded to enhance facilities and accessibility. PGCC is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and is recognized for student success and workforce development initiatives.
The next VPFSO must be committed to PGCC’s core values of excellence, success, diversity, respect, professionalism, and lifelong learning. They must be proficient in organizational strategy, resource management, collaboration, and mission advocacy, and demonstrate professionalism and high standards. The candidate should have exceptional written and oral communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to interface with senior management, the Board of Trustees, and staff. The VPFSO should operate as both a tactical and strategic thinker, capable of organizing and scheduling complex activities and building professional relationships within internal and external communities. A proven track record of facilitating progressive organizational change, strong judgment and problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence and engage staff is required. Desired attributes include mentoring and coaching experience, data-driven decision-making, and experience with ERP and data management systems (Ellucian Colleague preferred). Proficiency with technology (Microsoft Office) is preferred. The candidate should be self-reliant, results-oriented, proactive, and able to lead both strategic and operational initiatives, with a genuine passion for the College’s mission.
Location: Prince George’s County, Maryland. PGCC serves a large, diverse population with access to multiple higher education institutions nearby and proximity to Washington, D.C.
