Job description

Company Overview

The financial services industry is in the midst of a transformation being led by several mega trends. One of the most powerful trends is the shift in investment advice to digital enablement of both advisors and investors. The core of investment advice is moving away from performance-based to goals-driven solutions. Wealthcare pioneered the entire goals-based movement over a decade ago and continues to be an innovation and technology leader in this transformation.

Position Overview

Wealthcare Capital Management is seeking a dynamic and results-driven leader to oversee internal financial operations and drive strategic planning across the organization. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the critical link between tactical accounting functions and executive-level decision-making, ensuring financial insights directly inform growth strategy. This position provides the ideal opportunity for a candidate to advance within a dynamic, fast-growing company with continuously evolving systems and processes that incorporate enterprise efficiencies. With a company‑wide view, this role operates at the center of key data flow and leverages that vantage point to lead a high‑quality finance function responsible for the company’s most critical priorities. The successful candidate will inform and support important strategic and operational decisions for the business.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee all financial functions of the organization, including accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, tax, audit, and risk management.
  • Create an efficient and effective financial infrastructure to support aggressive Company growth while leverage existing platform.
  • Drive the development of financial forecasts, operating models, and strategic budgets that align with company objectives and promote sustainable growth.
  • Build and refine business intelligence and performance tracking tools to deliver timely, data-driven insights for executive decision-making.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the company’s capital structure and cash flow strategy, balancing risk, liquidity, and return to support operational needs and investment plans.
  • Support corporate development initiatives, including M&A deal modeling and due diligence in conjunction with SWM.
  • Evaluate and mitigate financial and operational risks by implementing robust internal controls, risk assessment frameworks, and audit procedures.
  • Supervise and develop the Finance team to ensure high performance, alignment with company values, and professional growth.
  • Provide insight to the CEO and executive leadership team, linking financial insight to business priorities and transformation initiatives.
Education and Experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required; an MBA or Master’s in a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years’ related experience in corporate finance or accounting, with at least 5 years’ related experience as a Controller or Director of Finance
  • Successful candidates will combine rigorous service acumen across some of the following areas, along with impressive depth in one or two: corporate development, fiscal reporting, financial modeling, executive and employee compensation, payroll and benefits, accounting, or financial management
  • Experience in the RIA/Advisory industry preferred but not required
  • Record of success in improving processes and leading department growth
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and handle and prioritize simultaneous requests
