OVERVIEW:
Our client is a growth-stage technology company that has established meaningful commercial traction and is continuing to scale its organization and operating infrastructure. They are seeking a Vice President of Finance to serve as the company’s senior finance leader and a strategic partner to the Chief Executive Officer and executive leadership team. This individual will lead the financial planning, reporting, accounting oversight, capital management, and finance infrastructure required to support the company’s continued development.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a commercially minded finance executive who has helped an evolving organization strengthen its financial capabilities and operating discipline. The ideal candidate combines strong financial judgment, analytical depth, and executive communication skills with the ability to establish scalable processes and provide thoughtful guidance across the business.
RESPONSIBILITY:
- Serve as a strategic financial partner to the CEO and executive leadership team, providing insight into business performance, growth priorities, investments, and resource allocation.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, scenario analysis, and management reporting.
- Develop financial models and reporting that provide clear visibility into performance, liquidity, profitability, and forward-looking expectations.
- Establish and monitor financial and operating KPIs that help leadership evaluate business performance and make informed decisions.
- Partner with functional leaders to develop operating plans, assess financial tradeoffs, and strengthen accountability against company objectives.
- Evaluate major business initiatives, investments, and commercial opportunities through financial analysis and scenario modeling.
- Prepare clear and decision-oriented financial materials for executive leadership, Board, and other key stakeholders.
- Support capital planning, financing activities, diligence, and strategic initiatives as the business evolves.
- Oversee accounting and financial operations to support accurate, timely, and reliable financial reporting.
- Strengthen financial processes, controls, policies, and reporting practices appropriate for a growing organization.
- Assess and develop the Finance organization, including internal capabilities, external resources, systems, and analytical tools.
- Improve the quality, accessibility, and efficiency of financial information used across the business.
- Promote financial discipline and strengthen cross-functional understanding of the key drivers of growth, profitability, and cash performance.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years of progressive experience across FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, or related financial leadership roles.
- Experience within a growing technology, software, recurring-revenue, or similarly dynamic business environment.
- Prior experience operating in a senior finance leadership capacity within an entrepreneurial, growth-oriented, or scaling organization.
- Demonstrated ability to build or improve financial planning, reporting, processes, controls, systems, and organizational capabilities.
- Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, performance analysis, & executive-level reporting.
- Solid understanding of the financial and operating metrics used to evaluate growth, profitability, customer economics, and capital efficiency.
- Experience supporting executive teams, Boards, investors, lenders, or other senior stakeholders.
- Exposure to capital planning, fundraising, financing, transactions, or strategic diligence is preferred.
- Strong commercial and analytical judgment with the ability to evaluate investments, challenge assumptions, identify tradeoffs, and make clear recommendations.
- Sufficient accounting and controllership knowledge to effectively oversee financial reporting and operational finance matters.
- Strong executive communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial information into concise, actionable insights.
- Comfortable operating independently in an environment where priorities, processes, and organizational needs continue to evolve.
- Builder-oriented leadership style with the ability to create scalable processes, systems, and decision frameworks.
- Experience with financial systems, planning tools, reporting platforms, or analytics solutions is preferred.
- MBA, CPA, or comparable advanced credential is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work effectively in collaborative environment with regular interaction across executive leadership team.
