Job description

LearnLux is the leading provider of workplace financial wellbeing, blending fiduciary digital planning with access to one-on-one guidance from Certified Financial Planner professionals. Our award-winning program helps employees navigate critical financial decisions from budgeting and benefits elections to equity compensation, home buying, and retirement so they can feel confident about their money and focused at work. Advanced reporting helps our partners understand impact, driving outcomes like reduced financial stress, increased productivity, and improved retention.

We’re building LearnLux with intention. We move quickly, operate with a high bar for quality, and value people who take ownership of their work. If you’re energized by solving new problems, taking accountability, and pushing yourself to do your best work every day, you’ll find this a rewarding environment.

We’re a venture-backed company that has raised over $35M to date and is supported by experienced investors and long-term partners. We’re a growth-focused business building for scale, and we’re excited by the opportunities and challenges that come with that journey.

The Role

As LearnLux’s Vice President of Finance, you will lead the company’s financial strategy, operations, and execution as we continue to scale. Reporting to the COO and working closely with the CEO, you will serve as a trusted partner to leadership, helping drive financial discipline, visibility, and decision-making across the business.

This is a hands-on, high-impact leadership role that blends strategic thinking with operational ownership. You will be responsible for building scalable financial systems, improving rigor and predictability, and ensuring LearnLux has the financial foundation needed to support growth. The Vice President of Finance will play a critical role in shaping how we plan, measure, and operate the business, with meaningful influence across teams and initiatives as the company evolves.

This role is remote within the U.S., with candidates expected to be based in or near New York City and available for in-person collaboration as needed. This role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and Co-founder.

What you’ll do
  • Act as the strategic finance partner to the CEO, COO, and Board, providing insight into business performance, capital efficiency, and long-term financial planning.
  • Own and evolve FP&A, including forecasting, budgeting, scenario modeling, and financial planning to support growth and decision-making.
  • Lead and oversee accounting operations, working closely with an outsourced accounting firm to ensure accurate, timely reporting and compliance with GAAP.
  • Build scalable financial processes, controls, and systems to support a growing B2B2C fintech business.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, actionable financial reporting for executive leadership and the Board, with a focus on transparency and predictability.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Commercial, Client Success, People, and Legal teams to align financial planning with company priorities.
  • Support go-to-market efforts through pricing analysis, renewals, revenue forecasting, and unit economics.
  • Manage tax, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance in collaboration with external partners.
  • Contribute to capital planning, investor communications, and future fundraising preparation as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, visibility, and financial rigor as the company scales.
  • Help define the roadmap for building an internal finance team over time, while remaining deeply involved in execution.
You should bring
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including senior leadership roles in high-growth SaaS, fintech, or technology-enabled businesses.
  • Experience in the benefits and wellness industry is heavily preferred
  • Proven experience building and operating finance functions in Series A+ or growth-stage startups.
  • Strong background in FP&A, accounting oversight, and financial operations, with the ability to move seamlessly between strategy and execution.
  • Deep understanding of GAAP, audits, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience partnering closely with CEOs, COOs, and Boards, with comfort operating under close executive oversight.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and take full ownership in environments with limited structure.
  • Familiarity with global financial operations, including contractors and multi-currency considerations.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as QuickBooks, Brex, Ramp, Carta, and HubSpot (or similar).
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required; MBA, CPA, or equivalent credentials are a plus.
LearnLux is a fit for you if you
  • Thrive in fast-moving environments and enjoy building in moments of change. We operate with urgency, and roles, priorities, and approaches evolve as we grow.
  • Like wearing multiple hats and helping define the path forward. At LearnLux, roles evolve as we grow, and employees often help create clarity, structure, and direction where it didn’t previously exist.
  • Take initiative and don’t wait to be asked. You see problems as opportunities and are comfortable stepping in to move work forward.
  • Are energized by ambiguity and willing to make decisions with imperfect information. We learn quickly by doing, and pace is a competitive advantage for us.
  • Enjoy being hands-on and owning work end to end. While strategic thinking matters, execution, follow-through, and accountability are what drive impact here.
  • Are motivated by high standards and continuous improvement. As we hit new milestones, we intentionally raise the bar on quality, ownership, and outcomes.
  • Value clear, frequent communication and collaboration. As a remote team, staying aligned through proactive communication is core to how we operate.
