Job summary

Carter Rolan Group in Fort Worth, TX, is seeking a Vice President of Finance to lead the Finance and Accounting function and partner with senior leadership to drive strategic financial performance as the business scales.

Reporting to executive leadership, you will own budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, project accounting, and financial controls, with a clear path toward CFO-level responsibility. This role offers significant exposure across operations and commercial decision making.

Qualifications

• Senior finance leadership experience within project-based environments.
• Strong knowledge of WIP, job costing, and progress billing.
• Experience in multi-entity environments with intercompany accounting.

Responsibilities

Overview

CRG is partnering with a growing privately held business within the commercial construction and manufacturing sector to appoint a Vice President of Finance.

This is a key leadership hire for an organisation going through an exciting period of growth and development.

Reporting into executive leadership, you will take ownership of the Finance and Accounting function while playing a much broader role in supporting commercial decision making, operational performance and the future growth of the business.

There is significant scope for progression beyond the initial VP Finance remit, making this particularly attractive to an ambitious finance leader looking for a genuine route towards CFO-level responsibility.

Your New Role

You will lead the Finance and Accounting function while acting as a commercial partner to senior leadership and operational teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and long-range financial planning
• Providing meaningful financial analysis and recommendations to support executive decision making
• Owning cash flow forecasting, working capital management and broader financial performance
• Overseeing accounting across a complex, multi-entity operating environment
• Maintaining strong financial control across WIP, job costing, project accounting and progressive billing
• Overseeing intercompany accounting and ensuring accuracy across multiple business operations
• Partnering closely with operational leaders to understand project performance, margins and profitability
• Leading, mentoring and developing the Finance and Accounting team
• Improving financial processes, systems, controls and management reporting
• Developing more sophisticated financial modelling and forward-looking analysis as the business continues to scale

What We're Looking For

This appointment requires someone who can combine strong construction accounting knowledge with genuine commercial and leadership capability.

You will ideally bring:

• Senior Finance leadership experience within commercial construction, specialty contracting or a closely related project-based environment
• Strong hands-on knowledge of WIP, job costing, percentage of completion/progressive billing and project accounting
• Experience operating within a multi-entity environment, including intercompany accounting
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial modelling capability
• Experience partnering with operational and commercial leaders rather than operating solely within Accounting
• A proven track record of leading and developing Finance teams
• Strong systems capability and evidence of improving financial processes, reporting and controls
• The ability to move comfortably between detailed financial operations and strategic business discussions
• The ambition and capability to develop into a broader executive Finance leadership position
