Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Vice President of Field Operations to lead multi-market field strategy in North America, with a remote-first setup. You will drive installation volumes, quality, safety and efficiency, while partnering with Customer Operations and executive leadership to optimize throughput and profitability.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in field operations within residential services or related sectors, proven P&L and budget discipline, and experience scaling teams across dispersed

Qualifications

• 10+ years field ops experience in residential services or related industries.
• 5+ years leading multi-branch or multi-market operations.
• Experience scaling field ops across dispersed locations; strong P&L knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute field operations strategy to support installation volume and quality.
• Lead and coach General Managers to hit KPIs for installs and revenue.
• Define organizational structure and roles for field teams.
• Ensure high installation quality and reduce callbacks.
• Champion a safety-first culture and regulatory compliance.
• Drive crew productivity and balance in-house and subcontractor resources.
• Partner with Customer Operations to align project coordination with throughput.
• Oversee fleet and warehouse operations to support crews.
• Build recruiting and training programs for field roles.
• Lead new market launches and establish local leadership.
• Develop and manage field budgets and branch P&Ls.
• Define and report on field KPIs for executive visibility.

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Vice President, Field Operations to join the team of a leader in the Energy & Utilities space.

This leader will own the execution of field operations strategy across multiple markets, with a focus on installation volume, quality, and operational consistency. The role will partner closely with Customer Operations and executive leadership to improve throughput, strengthen field team performance, and support profitable growth. It also carries accountability for fleet, warehouse, staffing, training, and field technology decisions that enable a safe and scalable operating model.

The ideal candidate will bring deep multi-site field operations experience in residential services or a related environment, along with the financial discipline needed to manage budgets and branch P&Ls. Success in this role will require strong leadership of General Managers and distributed teams across North America, plus the ability to launch new markets and build repeatable operating standards.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $190,000 – $220,000 annually

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred
• 10+ years of field operations experience in residential HVAC, home services, solar, electrical, or construction
• 5+ years leading multi-branch or multi-market operations
• Experience scaling field operations across geographically dispersed locations
• Proven leadership of General Managers and large field teams in the U.S. and Canada
• Strong financial acumen with budget and P&L management experience
• Familiarity with field service management platforms such as Zuper or ServiceTitan
