Job summary

Jetson is seeking an experienced HVAC Field Operations Manager to support California expansion. You will ensure readiness of installation teams, coordinate tools, vehicles, parts, and documentation, and bridge field operations with logistics, procurement, and scheduling.

You will coach and mentor technicians, enforce safety and codes, review installations for quality, and help develop best practices with senior leadership to scale our residential electrification mission in San Jose, CA.

Qualifications

• HVAC field lead experience required.
• CAC Class I restricted license required.
• NATE and Section 608 certification preferred.
• 5+ years in a management role overseeing field teams.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Knowledge of building codes and OSHA/LOTO standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure daily readiness of field teams with tools, equipment, parts, and paperwork.
• Liaise between field crew and logistics, procurement, scheduling.
• Visit sites for coaching and quality assurance on active installations.
• Monitor safety standards and compliance with local codes.
• Identify obstacles and resolve issues affecting productivity.
• Conduct pre-installation walkthroughs to confirm project parameters.
• Assess staffing needs based on business inputs.
• Train and mentor field technicians to improve workmanship and customer service.
• Review installations to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
• Support warranty investigations and corrective actions.
• Provide performance feedback and evaluations.
• Collaborate with leadership to refine procedures and best practices.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for an extremely motivated and passionate HVAC professional with field operations management who would like to be a part of an exciting new company looking to fight climate change through disrupting the residential HVAC industry. This marks our expansion in the California market. The Field Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that the HVAC installation teams are fully supported and equipped to perform their work safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role bridges field operations and leadership, with a focus on readiness, resource allocation, and real-time problem-solving to drive team success. As we continue to iterate the processes and procedures that ensure the highest installation quality and efficiency, this role will play an integral role by contributing to the knowledge base.

What You Will Do:

• Ensure daily readiness of field teams by coordinating tools, equipment, vehicles, parts, and job documentation.
• Act as the primary liaison between the field crew and internal departments such as logistics, procurement, and scheduling.
• Conduct site visits to provide support, coaching, and quality assurance for active installation projects.
• Monitor and enforce company safety standards and ensure compliance with local codes and regulations.
• Identify operational obstacles and work proactively to resolve issues that impact field productivity or installation timelines.
• Conduct pre-installation walkthroughs to ensure all project parameters
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the staffing needs based relevant business inputs.
• Train and mentor field technicians to improve workmanship, efficiency, and customer service.
• Review completed installations to ensure quality standards and customer expectations are met or exceeded.
• Support warranty and rework investigations and help implement corrective action plans.
• Provide performance feedback and assist with evaluations of field team members.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and refine operational procedures and best practices.

What You Bring:

• Proven experience as an HVAC install team member and team lead.
• GA Conditioned Air Contractor (CAC) - Class I Restricted (State, RME Required; #1 Gating Item)
• HVAC NATE and Section 608 certification preferred.
• 5+ years in a management role, overseeing field teams.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems including heat pumps.
• Ability to lead, coach, and motivate field personnel.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Familiarity with building codes and regulations.
• Excellent English communications and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with scheduling software, mobile work apps, field management tools and general business tools expertise.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Follows OSHA Electrical Standard
• Follows the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) standard

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $115K - $125K per year
