Job Summary

To work as part of a team, assisting in developing relationships within the Corporate Institutional Coverage business. You will be tasked to support the building and management of the business relationship, in particular supporting a designated portfolio of customer relationships in order to identify and satisfy customer needs in the most appropriate way meeting Group credit and profitability requirements. You will be an ambassador for change, an early adopter of tools designed to improve the client and colleague experience and support your wider team to achieve their objectives.

Role Overview

This position will focus on our Financial Sponsors department under Corporate and Institutional Coverage. The team is a leading originator in the Fund Finance market with a wide-ranging product suite for financial sponsors and asset managers, including subscription credit facilities, NAV facilities and other structured product solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Report to and support the Sector Head in the management and service (administrative & client-related activities) of the client portfolio.
  • Manage and develop a designated portfolio of customer relationships to meet income and returns growth objectives and deliver net new revenue to senior bankers and own portfolios.
  • Prepare and monitor business plans to meet client profitability requirements and business objectives.
  • Review and manage the execution of client proposals/opportunities with appropriate Product Partners and Risk.
  • Support the origination of business opportunities by identifying and delivering appropriate solutions for clients.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of credit facilities and services in conjunction with Product Partners.
  • Lead the preparation of all transaction-related materials, including Credit and Investment Committee papers and returns analysis.
  • Identify, develop and convert prospects and business leads to maximize business growth for the Group.
  • Support the client interface to ensure delivery of commitments and resolution of issues/enquiries.
  • Scope, review, negotiate and implement legal and other documentation ensuring compliance with credit sanction, bank and regulatory policy to minimize risk and facilitate business growth (Term Sheet, ISDA, loans).
  • Develop knowledge of industries, local economic and market conditions and act as a subject matter expert for the department and other stakeholders.
  • Administrative Lead: manage and develop associate and analyst teams to ensure delivery of high-quality work products.
  • Manage changes to bank policies, systems, processes and working practices to achieve operational improvement and compliance.
  • Review management information to provide reports for senior management to monitor profitability and control risk.
  • Participate in bespoke opportunities such as junior talent recruitment, Analyst Program Committee, diversity & inclusion network, responsible & ethical business practices, learning & development, trusted partnership initiatives, and other intra-bank work streams.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance or Business preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 4-8 years of investment, corporate banking or credit experience.
  • Strong internship experience will be valued.
  • Deep understanding of banking products, including credit, risk management, debt, corporate finance advisory and capital markets.
  • Series63 and 79 required (within 120 days of starting the role).
  • Strong business assessment skills.
  • Strong competence in LBG processes, procedures and administration.
  • Good analytical skills in corporate finance-related fields such as capital structure advisory, ratings analysis and financial risk management.
  • Knowledge of the fund finance market.
