Job description

The client is seeking a Vice President, Construction Operations to lead a significant portion of construction operations and support safe, profitable, and efficient project delivery. This executive role is accountable for operational performance, customer satisfaction, workforce development, and financial results across an assigned region, business unit, or operating company. The position partners with executive leadership to drive strategic growth, strengthen organizational capability, improve operational consistency, and build a high-performing culture centered on safety, accountability, and customer success.

Responsibilities include leading, coaching, and developing operations and construction leaders, establishing clear performance expectations, and fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence. The role supports workforce planning and leadership development in partnership with human resources, and contributes operational insight to the senior leadership team to enable growth and value creation. It also promotes collaboration across business units through shared best practices, identifies and develops high-potential talent, and reinforces a culture where safety is a core operational priority.

The vice president will provide executive oversight to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality and customer expectations. This includes maintaining visibility into project performance, labor capacity, backlog, customer commitments, operational risks, and market conditions; driving performance through productivity, labor utilization, execution, forecasting accuracy, and profitability; and partnering with estimating, preconstruction, procurement, safety, finance, and project teams to optimize resources and outcomes. The role will ensure operational processes and reporting support scalable growth, champion continuous improvement initiatives, resolve significant customer and project challenges, and develop and execute annual operating plans, budgets, forecasts, and performance objectives aligned with company strategy.
