The Vice President of Commercialization and Growth leads an integrated commercial organization that connects market and customer intelligence with portfolio priorities, commercialization, sales, marketing, and customer experience. Reporting to the EVP and COO, the Vice President accelerates sustainable growth, strengthens market relevance, and translates SAEI/ITC expertise, content, standards, communities, and other assets into differentiated offerings and lasting customer value. As an SLT member, the Vice President contributes to affiliate strategy execution, transformation, and performance. The role works with the CEO and Executive Leadership Council to provide market insight and foresight and partners with PRI business development leadership to surface opportunities across the enterprise. The Vice President partners closely with the Senior Director of Portfolio and Innovation, currently reporting into the CDTO office, and with the CDTO to align commercial priorities, innovation, and digital capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
Growth Strategy and Market Foresight

Develop and execute growth and commercialization strategy aligned with affiliate strategy, financial objectives, and enterprise priorities. Build market intelligence, customer research, segmentation, market sizing, competitive analysis, and strategic foresight capabilities. Identify unmet needs, attractive markets, and opportunities where SAEI/ITC can create differentiated value; translate insights into investment and growth recommendations. Bring external insights to the CEO and ELC and share relevant intelligence and opportunities with PRI business development leadership.

Portfolio Direction and Commercialization

Connect market and customer insights to portfolio priorities, product strategy, and resource allocation in partnership with business owners and the Senior Director of Portfolio and Innovation. Assess opportunities to grow, modernize, combine, reposition, partner around, acquire, or retire offerings; sponsor business cases through established approvals. Lead commercial readiness, including value propositions, pricing, positioning, channels, launch planning, adoption, and performance measurement. Strengthen product operations and lifecycle management, with clear ownership of product performance and a pipeline of validated offerings and business models.

Sales and Revenue Performance

Lead sales strategy, organization, capabilities, and performance across assigned markets, customer segments, product lines, and channels. Establish disciplined pipeline management, forecasting, account planning, opportunity management, and revenue reporting. Develop strategic customer relationships, cross-selling, bundled solutions, partnerships, and new routes to market. Align sales priorities and incentives with portfolio strategy, financial objectives, and long-term customer value.

Marketing and Customer Experience

Lead integrated brand positioning, demand generation, product and digital marketing, market development, and customer communications within enterprise brand direction. Establish clear value propositions for customers, members, and industry stakeholders across the portfolio. Lead Customer Success and Service and strengthen the end‑to‑end customer journey, reducing friction across channels and business units. Use customer feedback and behavioral data to improve acquisition, engagement, conversion, retention, satisfaction, and lifetime value.

Innovation and Digital Partnership

Partner with the Senior Director of Portfolio and Innovation to translate validated opportunities into commercial priorities, business cases, and executable launch plans. Partner with the CDTO to connect commercial opportunities with the AI and digitalization strategy, technical feasibility, delivery capacity, and enterprise standards. Engage the CDTO in relevant customer and industry discussions to connect market insight with emerging technology opportunities. Agree on business outcomes, investment recommendations, readiness criteria, and ownership with business and technology leaders; elevate unresolved tradeoffs through established governance.

Executive and People Leadership

Contribute as an SLT member to overall affiliate strategy, culture, transformation, resource choices, and performance. Build and develop a high‑performing commercial team with clear priorities, decision rights, performance expectations, and succession depth. Establish common commercial processes, data, and metrics; partner with Finance and Business Analytics for consistent performance visibility. Manage assigned budgets and resources and model collaboration, customer focus, sound judgment, and accountability.

Scope and Accountability

The Vice President owns commercial strategy and execution within the assigned organization. Individual business owners retain their established financial and operating accountability. Significant portfolio changes and investments are recommended through the EVP and COO and approved under enterprise authority. The Senior Director of Portfolio and Innovation currently reports into the CDTO office and is a key partner to this role. The CDTO retains ownership of enterprise AI and digitalization strategy, technology architecture, governance, and technical delivery. The Vice President provides enterprise insight through partnership with the CEO and ELC; the role is an affiliate SLT position.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent executive experience; advanced degree preferred. Typically 15 or more years of progressive experience in commercial leadership, growth, sales, marketing, product strategy, or general management, including significant senior leadership responsibility. Demonstrated success integrating commercial functions and delivering measurable revenue growth, market expansion, and customer outcomes. Strong experience in market intelligence, portfolio strategy, product lifecycle management, pricing, commercialization, and customer experience. Strong financial acumen and experience evaluating investments, partnerships, new business models, or acquisitions. Ability to lead transformation, develop leaders, influence executives, and translate complex insights into clear choices and action. Experience with complex B2B markets, technical communities, or knowledge‑based offerings such as content, standards, membership, events, training, and digital services preferred.
