Overview

About PowerSchool

At PowerSchool, we power education for students around the world. As the global leader in cloud-based K-12 software, we support the full education ecosystem—from the central office to the classroom to the home. Joining PowerSchool means being part of a mission-driven team that is transforming K-12 education by helping schools operate more effectively and deliver better outcomes for educators, students, and families.

The Role

The Vice President, Center of Excellence will drive the build and scale of specialist sales capabilities that accelerate growth across our portfolio of software solutions for K-12 education. This executive will lead a high-performing team of specialist Account Executives, drive annual contract value (ACV) across product and territory combinations, and equip the broader sales organization to successfully bring an expanding suite of solutions to school districts and education organizations. Working across Sales, Product, Marketing, Demand Generation, and acquired businesses, the VP will translate customer insight and market opportunity into repeatable go-to-market strategies, stronger pipeline creation, and sustained revenue growth.

Responsibilities
Your Impact
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing team of specialist Account Executives accountable for ACV performance across assigned product and territory combinations.
  • Establish the vision, organizational model, performance expectations, and operating cadence for the Sales Center of Excellence.
  • Deliver strong, consistent ACV growth across specialist products by setting clear priorities, inspecting performance, and deploying resources against the highest-value opportunities.
  • Develop scalable sales plays, tools, methodologies, and enablement programs that improve seller effectiveness, solution positioning, pipeline conversion, and forecast accuracy.
  • Lead the onboarding and integration of sellers from acquired companies, transferring product expertise and enabling the core Account Executive team to position and sell newly added solutions.
  • Partner deeply with Product leadership to bring structured feedback from K-12 customers and the field into product strategy, roadmap prioritization, packaging, and go-to-market decisions.
  • Partner with Marketing and Demand Generation to develop integrated campaigns, pipeline creation plans, and territory-specific strategies that support growth priorities and improve market penetration.
  • Partner with regional and segment sales leaders to identify opportunities across the K-12 education market, remove execution barriers, and scale best practices across the broader sales organization.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators for specialist sales, enablement adoption, pipeline health, productivity, and revenue outcomes; use insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a senior commercial advisor to executive leadership, providing clear recommendations on portfolio growth, sales capacity, investment priorities, and go-to-market execution.
Qualifications
What You’ll Need
  • Substantial senior sales leadership experience in a complex, multi-product B2B software or SaaS organization, with accountability for revenue or ACV growth; experience in K-12 education technology or the public sector a plus.
  • Demonstrated success building, leading, and developing high-performing specialist or overlay sales teams across multiple products, segments, or territories.
  • Proven ability to design and scale sales processes, operating rhythms, enablement programs, and go-to-market plays that produce measurable business results.
  • Experience integrating acquired sales teams, products, or capabilities into a broader commercial organization.
  • Strong record of cross-functional leadership with Product, Marketing, Demand Generation, Sales Operations, Enablement, and regional sales teams.
  • Deep understanding of pipeline creation, territory strategy, forecasting, sales productivity, and performance management.
  • Exceptional executive communication, influence, and change leadership skills, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders around shared priorities.
  • Analytical and customer-focused mindset, with the ability to convert the needs of school districts and education leaders, market signals, and performance data into clear actions and investment recommendations.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree preferred.
