Enlyte is seeking a Vice President of AI to establish and lead an enterprise AI Center of Excellence. You will guide the enterprise AI strategy, governance, and innovation, reporting to the CIO, and collaborate with legal, security, and product teams to drive responsible AI adoption.

The role requires deep expertise in AI/ML, LLMs, and modern frameworks, with a track record of leadership in AI governance and cross-functional influence. This position supports remote work from the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field; MS/PhD preferred.
• 15+ years in data science, ML, or AI with healthcare/insurance domain experience preferred.
• 5+ years in AI governance, strategy or innovation leadership.
• Proven governance frameworks and standards for AI.
• Experience influencing distributed AI teams and LLMs.
• Hands-on with LLMs and prompt engineering, fine-tuning.
• Deep expertise in PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX for enterprise apps.
• Experience with MLOps, model governance, monitoring, lifecycle.

Job Description

The Vice President of AI is a strategic leadership role in AI reporting to the CIO at Enlyte. This position will establish and lead our new AI Center of Excellence (AICOE), driving the enterprise-wide artificial intelligence strategy, governance, and innovation. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in AI/ML with strong business acumen and leadership skills to provide guidance, establish standards, and foster innovation across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Center of Excellence Leadership

• Develop and execute Enlyte's enterprise AI Center of Excellence.
• Advise the CIO and leadership team on emerging AI trends and technologies.
• Provide executive sponsorship and oversight for responsible AI development across the organization.
• Serve as the company's thought leader and evangelist for AI capabilities and adoption for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Build relationships with external partners and vendors in the AI ecosystem.

Innovation & Enablement

• Establish a framework for evaluating and adopting new AI technologies and approaches.
• Identify or sponsor high-impact AI initiatives that improve operational performance, customer outcomes, and financial results.
• Create reusable components, patterns, and accelerators to enable faster AI implementation.
• Drive experimentation and proof-of-concepts for emerging AI technologies.

AI Governance & Risk Management

• Own enterprise-wide AI governance frameworks including ethics, privacy, and compliance, staying current with evolving AI regulations and industry standards.
• Partner with legal, compliance, and security teams to ensure responsible AI use.
• Establish processes for AI model validation, testing, and monitoring.
• Mitigate risks associated with AI implementation including bias and explainability.
• Define and enforce guardrails for AI development across the organization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with data teams to establish data quality standards for AI initiatives.
• Work with cloud migration teams to align AI infrastructure with AWS strategy.
• Engage with product teams to provide guidance on AI capabilities and best practices.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing between business unit AI teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, related field, or equivalent experience. Advanced degree (MS or PhD) preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or AI fields with expertise in healthcare, insurance, or related industries preferred.
• 5+ years in leadership roles related to AI governance, strategy, or innovation.
• Proven track record of establishing AI governance frameworks and standards.
• Experience collaborating with and influencing distributed AI teams
• Hands‑on experience with large language models (e.g., GPT, Claude, Llama) and configuring, prompt engineering and fine‑tuning LLMs.
• Deep expertise in modern AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX) and their enterprise applications.
• Proficiency in implementing Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture.
• Experience with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone) and embedding models.
• Knowledge of MLOps practices and tools for model governance, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Understanding of AI infrastructure requirements, including GPU/TPU optimization.
• Experience with AI services like (Bedrock, SageMaker, etc.) or other cloud platforms.
• Experience with multimodal AI systems (text, image, audio) and their applications.
• Proficiency in Python and related data science libraries (pandas, scikit‑learn, etc.).
• Understanding of data engineering principles for AI workloads.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) for AI deployments.

The expected base pay for this position ranges from $232,000 - $250,000 annually, and will be based on a number of additional factors including skills, experience, and education.
