Job summary

NorthRock Partners seeks a strategic, people-focused leader to head the Personal Office and its Tax, Trust & Estate, Insurance, Bill Pay, Retirement Plan Services, and Advice Operations functions. You will strengthen leadership, establish operating disciplines, and elevate how clients, advisors, and team members experience advice across NorthRock.

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including leading leaders and multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in wealth management or financial services preferred
  • Experience leading organizational change and scaling operating models
  • Strong focus on client/advisor/employee experience

  • Coach and develop department leaders with clear expectations and accountability
  • Translate firm priorities into departmental plans, KPIs, and rhythms
  • Improve client/advisor/team experience through better coordination and delivery
  • Build scalable operating systems, processes, and governance across Advice functions
  • Lead growth and change with cross-functional alignment
  • Partner with Technology, Compliance, Investments, and other teams to strengthen delivery
  • Advance technology, data, and process improvements to increase capacity and efficiency
  • Travel up to 15% for meetings and events

The Role

We’re looking for a strategic, people-focused leader to join our Personal Office team. In this role, you’ll lead NorthRock’s Tax, Trust & Estate, Insurance, Bill Pay, Retirement Plan Services, and Advice Operations functions through their department leaders. You’ll strengthen leadership, create consistent operating disciplines, and improve how clients, advisors, and team members experience advice across NorthRock.

What You’ll Do
  • Coach and develop department leaders, establishing clear expectations, accountability, and strong leadership practices
  • Translate firm priorities into focused departmental plans, goals, KPIs, and operating rhythms
  • Strengthen the client, advisor, and team member experience by improving coordination, communication, ownership, and service delivery
  • Build scalable operating systems, processes, and governance across Advice functions while preserving specialized expertise
  • Lead teams through growth and change, building alignment across departments and cross-functional partners
  • Partner with Technology, Operations, Compliance, Investments, Private Markets, and other teams to strengthen integrated advice delivery
  • Advance technology, automation, data, and process improvements that increase capacity, efficiency, and scalability
  • Travel up to 15% for leadership meetings, team engagement, firm events, and other business needs
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Management, Organizational Leadership, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including meaningful experience leading leaders and multidisciplinary teams, preferably within wealth management
  • Proven success developing leaders, building high-performing teams, and strengthening accountability and execution
  • Experience leading organizational change and scaling operating models, processes, and technology
  • Strong understanding of client, advisor, and employee experience with the ability to lead effectively across specialized functions
  • Exceptional people leadership, emotional intelligence, communication, and ability to build alignment across teams
  • Experience with EOS or a comparable operating framework preferred
  • CFP®, CFA®, CPA, JD, advanced degree, or relevant leadership or operational credentials preferred
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a credit and criminal background check is required

The estimated base salary range for this role is $239,000 – $329,000 per year. Compensation is based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. This role may also be eligible for variable pay (bonuses, commissions, incentives).
