Job summary

Landing Point, a leading SEC-registered investment advisor, seeks a Vice President of Accounting to provide strategic oversight and hands-on execution across tax compliance and accounting operations in the United States.

You will oversee federal, state, and local tax obligations, coordinate with external advisors and auditors, and develop tax planning strategies to optimize the company's effective tax rate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • CPA designation strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 4-7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with management experience.
  • Proven experience in tax compliance/planning and accounting operations.
  • High proficiency in accounting systems, advanced Excel skills required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all federal, state, and local tax compliance obligations, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors on complex tax matters, audits, and filings.
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the company's effective tax rate.
  • Direct all day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, and payroll accounting.
  • Lead the monthly and annual budgeting and multi-year financial planning processes.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead the coordination of annual financial audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
  • Serve as a strategic financial partner to the CFO and COO.
  • Evaluate, implement, and optimize financial systems and technology solutions.
