A rapidly growing leader in critical infrastructure solutions is seeking a senior executive to lead a high-growth data center business unit. The organization has established a strong presence across the data center cooling, rack infrastructure, and liquid cooling markets, serving many of the world's leading operators and technology companies.
This is a highly visible leadership opportunity with responsibility for strategy, business performance, commercial growth, operational integration, and team development across multiple business lines. The role will interact closely with executive leadership and play a key part in shaping the company's long-term position in one of the fastest-growing sectors in the global infrastructure market.
Reporting directly to C-Suite, the VP/GM will have full ownership of a substantial and rapidly expanding business portfolio within the data center market. The successful candidate will be an experienced General Manager capable of driving growth, integrating acquired businesses, building high-performing teams, holding leaders accountable, and executing against ambitious strategic objectives. The ideal individual will combine strong commercial instincts, operational discipline, financial acumen, and deep familiarity with the data center ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a major data center business unit with full P&L ownership and accountability for growth, profitability, and market expansion
- Develop and execute the long-term strategy for multiple data center-focused business segments
- Drive the successful integration and growth of acquired companies and emerging business lines
- Build alignment across commercial, operations, engineering, and product teams
- Define organizational structure, talent strategy, and succession planning across the business unit
- Strengthen leadership capability through coaching, accountability, and performance management
- Partner with executive leadership on market strategy, competitive positioning, and investment priorities
- Develop customer relationships and support key business development initiatives across hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, and AI infrastructure markets
- Identify organic and inorganic growth opportunities, including strategic partnerships and acquisitions
- Deliver operational excellence while scaling revenue, profitability, and market share
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of leadership experience with significant P&L responsibility
- Proven success leading complex, multi-functional business units
- Strong executive presence with demonstrated ability to influence diverse stakeholder groups
- Experience building and scaling organizations during periods of rapid growth
- Deep understanding of the data center ecosystem and customer landscape
- Exceptional commercial, financial, and operational leadership skills
- Ability to travel extensively throughout North America
Preferred
- Experience leading businesses exceeding $100M in annual revenue
- Background within data center infrastructure, cooling, HVAC, liquid cooling, power, rack systems, or related critical infrastructure markets
- Experience integrating acquisitions and leading organizational transformation initiatives
- Success managing entrepreneurial business leaders and high-growth operating environments
- MBA or advanced business degree
- Experience working within complex global organizations
- General Manager, Business Unit Leader, Division President, or P&L Executive
- Data center industry experience is strongly preferred
- Combination of commercial leadership, business strategy, and operational execution capability
- Track record of growing sizeable businesses, not simply managing functional teams
- Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution
