Job summary

West Kentucky Community & Technical College is seeking a Vice Chancellor of Regional Workforce & Economic Development to lead the Workforce Solutions unit, building regional partnerships and directing training programs to meet employer needs.

Reporting to the Chancellor, the role oversees 5-7 full-time staff and up to 50 part-time trainers, develops budgets, and collaborates with academic leaders to advance workforce initiatives and student success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with experience.
  • 3-4 years related experience (sales, business, marketing, economic development, etc).
  • Strong research, analysis, writing, facilitation, public speaking and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience setting and attaining goals with accountability.
  • Commitment to customer service and student success across populations.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains partnerships with regional trade associations, economic development agencies, and business to identify workforce needs.
  • Develops and delivers customized training and programs to address employer needs and improve student outcomes.
  • Creates sales and enrollment goals for the Workforce Solutions unit and monitors progress.
  • Collaborates with academic leadership to identify programming innovations.
  • Supervises 5-7 full-time employees and up to 50 part-time staff.
  • Liaises with community boards and chambers on regional economic development initiatives.
  • Assists in revenue generation and student enrollment affecting state funding and budget.
  • Develops and monitors budgets to align with unit and college goals.
  • Serves on the Chancellor’s Cabinet and supports college leadership.
  • Assumes additional duties as assigned by the Chancellor.

Salary Range: $73,272 - $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience

Contract Term Length: 12 Months

Standard Hours: 37.5

Job Summary: Provides leadership to and direct oversight of all aspects of the Workforce Solutions unit at West Kentucky Community & Technical College.

  1. 1. Establishes and maintains partnerships with regional trade associations, economic development agencies, and business and industry to identify emerging workforce needs.
  2. 2. Develops and delivers customized training and programs, administers business and industry assessments, and provides continuing education classes to address employer needs, facilitate optimal employment outcomes for students, and strengthen the region’s overall workforce.
  3. 3. Creates sales and enrollment goals for the Workforce Solutions unit and regularly monitors progress and contributes to the achievement of these goals.
  4. 4. Reporting to the Chancellor, collaborates with academic leadership and faculty to identify opportunities for innovation in programming.
  5. 5. Directly supervises and evaluates 5-7 full-time employees and indirectly supervises and evaluates up to 50 part-time training staff across the Workforce Solutions unit.
  6. 6. Serves as a liaison between the college and community industrial boards and local chambers of commerce on regional economic development initiatives.
  7. 7. Assists in generating revenue and student enrollment that impacts the level of state funding and overall budget of the College.
  8. 8. Develops a budget that matches campus resources and the goals and operational needs of the Workforce Solutions unit. Monitors department expenditures to ensure they align with the goals and needs of the unit and the College.
  9. 9. Serve as a member of the WKCTC Chancellor's Cabinet.
  10. 10. Assumes other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Chancellor.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or equivalent degree + experience
