Job summary

The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix seeks a Vice Chair of Research in the Department of Urology. The successful candidate will lead research strategy, build collaborations across the health system, and develop innovative clinical and translational programs.

The appointment requires an MD, board certification in Urology, and eligibility for academic appointment at associate professor level or higher. It offers a full benefits package and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent degree from an accredited program.
• Eligible for an academic appointment at the associate professor level or higher.
• Board certified in Urology with eligible AZ medical licensure.
• Eligible for Banner-University Phoenix medical staff membership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement departmental research vision and infrastructure focusing on clinical trials, grantsmanship and original research.
• Build internal and external relationships to promote academic collaborations across the health system.
• Promote and provide a research and teaching environment of the highest quality and integrity.
• Foster programs of national distinction through innovation and collaboration.
• Mentor medical students, residents, fellows and faculty.
• Engage in teaching and research activities for students, residents and fellows.
• Participate on appropriate department and/or College committees as well as professional organizations, as appropriate.
