Job summary

University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing seeks a Vice Chair for Administration in the Department of Nurse Anesthesia. This full-time position may be appointed at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank, tenure- or appointment-stream, to support the department chair and advance the teaching mission.

Responsibilities include teaching, research, and service, with administrative duties such as leading in the chair's absence, mentoring new faculty, and coordinating faculty needs with the chair

Qualifications

• Board certified CRNA with an unencumbered license.
• Proven administrative leadership in academic and curricular activities.
• Earned doctorate in nursing or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Teach, conduct research, and provide service in the Department of Nurse Anesthesia.
• Provide leadership for the Department of Nurse Anesthesia in the absence of the department chair.
• Orient and mentor new faculty to teaching roles.
• Present regular updates in department meetings.
• Collaborate with the Department Chair on faculty and staff matters.
• Meet regularly with the Department Chair and Vice Chair for Research and Scholarship to review faculty development and departmental needs.
