Job summary

The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is seeking a Vice Chair for Administration in the Department of Nurse Anesthesia. This full-time position supports the department chair and oversees the program's teaching mission, with responsibilities across leadership, administration, and faculty development.

The appointment can be at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor rank. Candidates must be board-certified CRNAs with an earned doctorate and PA license (or compact-state license).

Qualifications

• Board-certified CRNA with PA license or compact-state license.
• Proven administrative capabilities in academic and curricular leadership.
• Earned doctorate in nursing or related field of scholarship.
• Experience in teaching, research, and service.

Responsibilities

• Providing leadership for the Department of Nurse Anesthesia in the absence of the department chair
• Orienting and mentoring new faculty to teaching roles
• Providing support and presenting regular updates in department meetings
• Collaborating with the Department Chair on matters regarding department faculty and staff
• Meeting regularly with the Department Chair and Vice Chair for Research and Scholarship to review faculty development and departmental needs
• Other duties may be assigned based on department needs.
