Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Vibroacoustics and Shock Engineer to advance test practice and technical support for defense and civil space programs. The role spans analysis, hardware testing, and standards development, with onsite requirements at multiple US locations.

Minimum qualifications include a Mechanical/ Aerospace Engineering degree, 6+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency in vibroacoustics tools and data analysis. Strong briefing skills and Python ability are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Aerospace Engineering or similar field.
  • 6+ years of applicable professional or academic experience.
  • Experience in dynamic environments testing, instrumentation setup, and analysis.
  • Knowledge of vibroacoustics computational methods and spectral analysis.
  • Experience with Wave6 or other vibroacoustics software.
  • Ability to present results in briefings and technical reports.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify development areas in environmental standards and analyses.
  • Lead technical assessments and coordinate work across teams.
  • Manage instrumentation and dynamic environments testing setups.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to staff.
  • Engage with industry and update test philosophy and practices.
  • Collaborate with other departments to secure funding for standards development.
  • Present status briefs to management, customers, and contractors.
  • Travel to customer and contractor facilities for reviews and testing.
