Job summary

United Launch Alliance (ULA) is seeking a Vibro-Acoustic Engineer to define, verify, and apply high-frequency shock, vibration, and acoustic environments for launch vehicle components and payloads. You will develop FEM models, validate against flight and ground data, and support test programs to ensure mission success.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering with 4+ years in signals, acoustics, or random vibration, plus experience with FEM tools (NASTRAN), MATLAB, and Linux.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 4+ years' experience in signals analysis, acoustics, shock, or random vibration.
  • Experience with dynamic tests of subsystems/components.
  • Experience deriving acoustics/shock environments from test and/or flight data.
  • Finite Element Modeling (FEM) experience required; familiarity with NASTRAN or similar software.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB and Linux environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform acoustic, shock, and vibration analyses using established methods.
  • Engage in critical thinking and drive decision-making processes.
  • Develop, document, and maintain processes, methods, and tools.
  • Guide and resolve technical and programmatic issues affecting cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Generate analysis reports and present results to internal and external customers.
  • Support component shock, acoustic and vibration testing, including pre-test derivation and post-test validation.
  • Process and analyze flight data to update analysis methodologies.
