Job summary

Marotta Controls in Parsippany, NJ is seeking an Engineering Technician I, Vibration Testing to support vibration and thermal tests in a fast-paced lab environment. You will assist in setup, testing, troubleshooting, documenting results, and designing fixtures while collaborating with engineers.

The role requires hands-on testing experience, ability to read drawings, and strong attention to detail. Overtime and training opportunities accompany a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical aptitude; able to read technical drawings.
• Technical understanding of mechanical vibrations or heat transfer.
• Detail-oriented; able to work in a fast-paced environment and follow procedures.
• Effective verbal/written communication with all levels.
• Computer literate with MS Office and basic PC skills.
• US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Operate an Electrodynamic Vibration and/or Thermal system to test product performance and dynamic response.
• Program test software and ensure quality per written requirements.
• Design and integrate new test fixtures or test equipment.
• Read and interpret procedures, schematics/technical drawings, and verify tooling geometries.
• Document all testing performed and communicate results.
• Set up and use electronic instruments and fragile transducers.
• Assist with testing equipment maintenance and/or repair.
• Identify causes for test failures and document root causes.
• Notify quality department of failures and support corrective actions.
